The absolute state of Collingwood supporters whenever someone dare suggest that Melbourne might win. My god they are a fragile bunch.

They are deadset [censored] themselves that the 'greatest team ever' may not even make the Prelim.

This is first class analysis of the four finals games.

Some of the best analysis I've heard - clear, makes sense and well articulated.

Davis is very impressive.

He does the dees game first.

I was joking haha. Not a very good joke. Meatloaf's voice was shot.

The only mix used for Meatloaf was the drongo signing in the shower mix.

I legitimately hope it's just us fans that read into the 1st vs 4th stuff and how 4th place never wins a flag.

With everything that these players go through they hopefully don't get caught up in all the superstitions and would just be stoked to get this final on the G. Win and all bets are off.

I’m just guessing with no research whatsoever… I would expect 1st to beat 4th more often than not because typically there would be a substantial gap between the two sides. The ‘skill’ gap between 2nd and 3rd would be closer. And less between those two sides and the 1st placed side.  On that basis one would expect 4th place sides been the least successful in snagging a premiership.

What is different this year is that (hopefully without a biased perspective) that there is not that skill gap between 1st and 4th.  I keep in mind that had we been awarded the win against Carlton we would have been second and Collingwood would have been up against Port.
I strangely feel nervously optimistic about our chances not only this week but in the ones following. We are serious contenders.

Listen to a guy from the weather bureau on SEN. Said rain would hit between 6pm and 7pm but be fairly light with a couple of showers across the evening.

The bigger issue would appear to be wind as it will be gusty/blustery all night.

Originally I was dreading the rain considering our poor performance when it’s been wet.

then realised that Collingwood might actually be worse off if it’s pouring.

Now I’ll be disappointed if it’s not raining.

I think I’m slowly going insane

Im not sure if wind effects the mcg too much as the stands shelter most of it

Great interview... the importance of Max, eh.

I wonder if they will get stuck into him, as teams have done for a couple of years now. He gets little protection from the umpires - gets niggles and blocks off the ball all time, slightly late hits etc etc. I hope we have a plan to make it clear that we won't stand for that short of [censored].

Yeah I know. I missed a couple but it is overwhelmingly the case. Playing live in these settings is fraught with danger in my opinion

Max cops plenty of whacks to the head and rarely gets a free  Clarrie is in a similar boat.

Umpires are [censored] poor in this regard and yet the bleat about protecting the head continues from the AFL.

Nerves set in around midday and I can't focus at all now.

Tomorrow is going to be brutal and a total write off.

I really hope he goes into the media and maintains this style of delivery. Dry but with a lot of clarity. He doesn’t inject any ego into it which is refreshing!

Have done precisely no work today.

Tomorrow is an office day for me. It's gonna be brutally long.

Posted this on the ticketing thread but no takers, so here it is again.

We are falling like flies.  I too am sick and can no longer go.  Ticket is Q54 row A seat 11.  Please someone enjoy it! No cash needed.  I believe the seat is under cover!

In the words of Iggy Pop “gimme danger”.

But it’s been more common over the last few years, as digital consoles have made it easier. I was moved to have a look at some of the previous performances and as well as PK, Sting, Vance Joy and the The Living End all played live. A couple of their songs used “track” - a phantom keyboard or string part here and there, but that would be the case with their usual live shows too.

As for Kiss, they’ll certainly have some modern augmentation, as they’ve been leaning on it more and more in recent years.

The oscillation between “game chat” and “KISS chat” on this thread has been very funny. It’s helped the nerves!

I struggle to pick up jokes sometimes. His voice was well and truly shot. But who wouldn’t play some provincial football games grand final that no one in the northern hemisphere will Ever see for a mil or two

Not to mention the MCG and general open air acoustics, doesn't make for great vocal performances at the best of times.

Noble dropped for Collingwood after 83 straight games.

Hopefully the Pie players are rattled by this, a permanent fixture getting dropped.

John Noble omitted for the pies. Hasn’t missed a game since Rd 6, 2020. 83 games in a row then dropped for the first final.

Brutal.

Noble dropped for who?

changing up their backline at this stage is a good sign for us

Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start.
