PREGAME: QF vs Collingwood

Pies will be better without Noble. Horrible disposal and often the weak link in the chain.

Shame for us. Was one area I was hoping we could really exploit!

Just saying this to a friend.. hopefully pies players are nervous about their spots and over do it

Noble is an absolute favourite of Buckley. Seems like a dangerous line breaker.

Oh well I guess Ginnivan gets preference.

Hibbo and Tmac in.

Turner out!

Good, I hope he keeps dropping that shoulder, not getting a free and the toothless wonders going completely berserk.

Anyway I'm feeling sick. I think I have to take the Demon Dog out for a walk to settle. (Me not him)

Only question now is will it be Laurie , Hibbo or Smith sub. I'd say Laurie

You gotta feel for the kid. He did pretty well against Sydney

My guess:

Tmac in.

Smith in the starting 22.

Laurie on the bench

The other possibility i can see is hibberd comes in for turner.

Or perhaps Salem given he had not found his best form.

That said I really can't see salo not being selected.

What do you make of the Noble omission?

Reverting back to Lever and May being our only 2 talls against a forward line that has 3 talls.

This defensive structure has not worked this year.

Hibbo and Smith both in starting 22

Laurie is my guess for sub

Smith is in the team, starting as a forward.

The sub will be Laurie or Jordon.

TMac and Hibbo in = very good news.

Noble out for Pies appears a huge mistake to me. Don't understand it at all. Their whole game is built on run-and-carry and he has been a central pillar of that all season.

If Ginnivan can't get a regular game at the Pies, I would be happy to have him at the Dees. I know he is a bit of a w-anchor, but a natural footballer with wonderful game sense.

Smith could play back with McDonald in.

Who is the Pies third tall btw?

Great to have Hibbo back.

Gutted to see Turner out. Hope we don't regret it

They'll use Cox as the resting tall up forward.

Smith is not a backman. Gets completely lost down there and this has been very evident.

Great news with Hibberd back

I'd say the floating ruck forward?

Interesting changes. Guess Smith plays back which is OK. My only concern is if Cox drifts forward and has a day out like he did against Richmond in 2018!

Yeah so Cox and McStay… and?

I'm surprised by this as well.  Given the pies have Miocek, McStay, Cox and Elliot - not sure how the matchups work.
Having said that, I think Hibberd has been excellent for most of the year and his desperation and ability to play on talls and smalls is welcomed!

My fear with the pies forwards is probably more the ability of the smaller ones when the ball hits the ground (Hill, Elliot, Ginnivan, McCrery etc) - so a smaller lineup is suited to covering that.

I wonder if this is related to the weather forecast?

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

Who would have imagined, when the season kicked off early last month, that Melbourne would emerge from the opening six weeks with wins over both Queensland powerhouses? At the time, Gold Coast and Brisbane were the competition’s early pace-setters, the flavours of the month, and the prospect of the Demons toppling both within the course of a fortnight seemed remote. Yet here they are, banking those scalps alongside home victories over two traditional Victorian rivals and building a quietly impressive resume.

From the outset, the Casey Demons lacked any spring in their steps. They were out-hustled and out-bustled and finally outplayed by the Brisbane Lions by 38 points on their home turf in perfect conditions at Casey Fields.
