Yeah but they have crumbers at every contest and others waiting off the pack to move it on

MFC has Kossi chasing screamers  and mids kicking it to packs  with no marking forwards

guess you won't be going then?

The BOM has updated for Thursday.

It's gone from 2-8mm to 1-4mm.

20 degrees at lunchtime. 14 at the first bounce.

The iphone weather app (yeah I know LOL!) is saying that all the rain will occur from 7pm to 10pm.

I actually find the iPhone app to be weirdly accurate... but only 24 hours out. Any earlier and it's basically a random guess like any other weather app out there.

Every chance the showers won't start until the end of the game or even later. Friday is now meant to be the worst rain of the week.

Updated my BOM app for android and the weather seemed to change with it. No hail in the evening now.

LOL shows you how accurate it is.

I would not bother checking until tomorrow after lunch, and even then it'll change 10 more times.

My guess; it will either rain, or it won't.

AccuWeather says a couple of nothing showers in the late afternoon and a 7% chance of a shower at 6pm and nothing after that. Don't bother with the ponchos folks just the red and blue scarves will be fine for the... murder.

It’ll likely not rain until Friday. I’m so pumped for this match. Big crowd, big opponent and the chance to go to a Prelim. Bring your A fame Dee’s and get it done

Tmac in the wet. Strewth

Maybe they'll go with  Spargo or JJ.

No other change.

While i wouldn't expect Macca or any KPFs to kick a bag in wet or greasy conditions i reckon we already have too many dour types that don't worry the scorer DB.

Spargo & JJ are just two more that rarely do.  Both also struggle with distance in the dry let alone poor conditions.

We need to put a winning score on the board even in dodgy conditions.

Macca will also most likely get Moore as well which may free up JVR a little.

I expect we might put someone on Moore to drag him around.

Not sure if Tmac still has that tank.. Fritta likes covering territory.

I'm not a KISS fan, and agree it is crazy not to book Aaussie bands, but there is one big difference to meatloaf.

Meatloaf was very much a has been and decades past being a top seller.

I heard Gerard Whately say something similar ie kids won't know who KISS are. But in fact he was just showing out of touch he is.

KISS remain huge and continue to find new, young audiences all over the world. They are huge with kids now.

People don't but CDs much anymore, but KISS are making a fortune from streaming.

On spotify they get over 13 million monthly listeners and their most streamed song is I was made for loving you with over 800 million streams.

Those numbers aren't all old foggies reliving their misspent youth. Millions of kids love them.

For the same reason they continue to rake in serious coin with touring . Their last major tour was i think 2019. KISS were the only hard rock act in the top 10 grossing tours in the US that year, coming in at number 7, grossing more that $80 mill US

2019 Top 10 North American Tours

1. The Rolling Stones ($177.8M gross; 784,652 tickets sold)
2. Elton John ($157.4M gross; 1,155,510 tickets sold)
3. Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band ($97.0M gross;, 867,925 tickets sold)
4. Pink ($87.9M gross; 624,419 tickets sold)
5. Ariana Grande ($82.6M gross; 700,053 tickets sold)
6. Jonas Brothers ($81.7M gross; 769,310 tickets sold)
7. KISS ($81.6 M gross; 800,302 tickets sold)
8. Fleetwood Mac ($77.5M gross; 544,286 tickets sold)
9. Garth Brooks ($76.1M gross; 856,000 tickets sold)
10. Justin Timberlake ($75.6M gross; 568,449 tickets sold)

On top of all of that they continue to make millions annually from merchandise (having more than a billion dollars in merch sales over their career).

They aint no meatloaf.

Right? There’s only so much emotional territory Mike Brady can cover.

We could just have some peace and quiet

There's far too much / quite enough noise already

guess you won't be going then?

Actually I have a place ready to go in the 50 years member section.

The point is that calling it by stats is why David King gets it wrong so often.

I'm intuiting from what I've seen watching live as well as on Kayo

Both teams..the advantage of MCC membership.

I may be completely wrong of course

Great we play on thursday

When do the teams get released?

Perhaps, but my other intuition is that they were short DeGoey and several others( yeah Daicos I know) and two theoretically equal sides tend to trade victories.

I know Pies fans who are nervous about this game .

Hopefully it is good entertainment

Will we get the teams friday i guess

There was a time during the current Melbourne cycle that goes back to before the premiership when the club was the toughest to beat in the fourth quarter. The Demons were not only hard to beat at any time but it was virtually impossible to get the better them when scores were close at three quarter time. It was only three or four years ago but they were fit, strong and resilient in body and mind. Sadly, those days are over. This has been the case since the club fell off its pedestal about 12 months ago after it beat Geelong and then lost to Carlton. In both instances, Melbourne put together strong, stirring final quarters, one that resulted in victory, the other, in defeat. Since then, the drop off has been dramatic to the point where it can neither pull off victory in close matches, nor can it even go down in defeat  gallantly.

  • CASEY: Footscray

At twenty-four minutes into the third term of the game between the Casey Demons and Footscray VFL at Whitten Oval, the visitors were coasting. They were winning all over the ground, had the ascendancy in the ruck battles and held a 26 point lead on a day perfect for football. What could go wrong? Everything. The Bulldogs moved into overdrive in the last five minutes of the term and booted three straight goals to reduce the margin to a highly retrievable eight points at the last break. Bouyed by that effort, their confidence was on a high level during the interval and they ran all over the despondent Demons and kicked another five goals to lead by a comfortable margin of four goals deep into the final term before Paddy Cross kicked a couple of too late goals for a despondent Casey. A testament to their lack of pressure in the latter stages of the game was the fact that Footscray’s last ten scoring shots were nine goals and one rushed behind. Things might have been different for the Demons who went into the game after last week’s bye with 12 AFL listed players. Blake Howes was held over for the AFL game but two others, Jack Billings and Taj Woewodin (not officially listed as injured) were also missing and they could have been handy at the end. Another mystery of the current VFL system.

The Demons head back out on the road in Round 10 when they travel to Queensland to take on the reigning Premiers and the top of the table Lions who look very formidable. Can the Dees cause a massive upset? Who comes in and who goes out?

Wayward kicking for goal, dump kicks inside 50 and some baffling umpiring all contributed to the Dees not getting out to an an early lead that may have impacted the result. At the end of the day the Demons were just not good enough and let the Hawks run away with their first win against the Demons in 7 years.
