Would think we will go in with a forward set up where we prevent Andrews from intercepting either by playing JVR as the high half forward taking him up the ground or bringing in Tomlinson and moving Petty forward and getting separation between Petty and BB. Another option could be Melksham playing a defensive role on him

I think it is more likley Melksham will play a defensive role on Andrews.

I don't think JVR gets run this week. One or two more weeks in the magoos for the kid, with the goal of being cherry ripe come finals.

Yes...theyve many more strings to their bow than the Sainters had.

The game ought to be much more free flowing....cant see the Lions needing to think they need flood. Their defence has been pretty stingy too.

Funny i thought we'd need to kick around 12 goals to beat the Aints...and we managed just that. That wont be enough to get over Fagans mob i feel.

I truly dont understand how we're favourites going into this game...those odds ought to be reversed imo.

Anyhow... good luck us....we're going to need buckets of it.

Selection going to be interesting...again.

Everyone seems to have forgotten the lions dire record at the G (their only win coming against us when we were battered and bruised in the finals last year). Rain or not we’ll beat them.

I mean not everyone. We're the betting favourites I would say mainly because its being played at the MCG.

But besides that factor they are more in form, healthier and coming off the easiest win of their season probably. So I would call it closer to even to me.

Jesus Big Fella, we've talked about this negativity. The Dee's have got this. Bears don't like the g and our whole game plan is based around it. We are the [censored] G experts

Leave Trac 50%= game time as a froward.

Midfield of Viney, Sparrow and Jordon. I would also run Rivers and Kozzie through there. Perhaps some pressure and time in the guts will give Kozzie back his early season spark.

JVR back in. I. too would love to see BBB and JVR alongside each other for a few weeks.

I wish Hibbo was available for Cameron. If not, I suppose it has to be Rivers or Bowie??

Think Judd is probably a reasonably good matchup for Charlie.

If that's your long suit...   we are in a bit of a bother ... no ?

BBB usually does well against Brisbane. Looking forward to seeing what he can do in this one.

Don't know if this is the one to bring JVR back for but wouldn't say no.

But they beat us in the greatest finals win of all time!

JVR had a quiet one last week in a pretty easy win. I'm not sure I'd be bringing him in on that basis. I think Shache deserves another chance but who goes out?

And spent the next week congratulating themselves so much that they didn't turn up against Geelong the week after.

I think we all recognise that Kossie had a poor game last week and is out of form currently but I think this sort of cheap shot is unworthy of a true Melbourne supporter.

Def should he tried as it’s only time he’s looked dangerous in 6wks — But Spargo also out of sorts for mine I’d prefer Howes, Chandler or AMW atm (Woey can play up ground)!

No problem with them coming in, not sure Hows is up the the fitness level.  Apparently cramped severely in the VFL this week.  basically i think selection integrity is important not.  If someone in the VFL that plays your position is in form and you are not then you lose your spot.

I do also think our crumbing forwards have it tough with only 1 Key forward, easy to know where the ball is going to drop for the opposition.

What has happened to our pressure game. The one where we hunt and create turnovers across the entire ground?

Lions are slow with ball in hand but make up for it with excellent kicking. Apply pressure on the ball carrier and we will maul them on turnover. But I just haven’t seen this intensity for quite some time. It’s time to find it and hold onto it for the rest of the year.

If we leave him out this week, he'll be sitting around for the VFL bye.

So, then another week in the VFL after that?

It doesn't give him time to settle in with BB before the finals in my opinion.

I think we've got to get him back in as another tall and leave Petty in his best role in defence.

JVR had a pretty quiet game last week. I wonder if he's dropped his head a bit after getting dropped?

Sache kicked 4 but he doesn't physically compete like JVR

If he was such an integral part of our backline, I'd love to see him crumbling up forward. Reckon he would be good for at least two every week.

I’d rather not see any of our players crumbling, in any position, Deeves. 😁 crumbing would be good though.

Our game against the Pies was pretty damm good. Just need to find that intensity more consistently

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
