When you're coming off the ground at halftime and Gus says our game is looking good offensively and we've kicked 2 goals 9, i reckon theres an issue with accepting mediocrity.

Not sure we will be able to make finals from here. How mark stafford still has a job is beyond me.

England cricket team levels of self delusion at the moment.
There’s something to be said for doing everything right and not getting the result, but eventually you have to get the result. We’re going backwards fast..

SO BLOODY WHAT!!

Hard to fathom it was less than only two years ago.

Who is this mob?

Can we please not play here again at least?

Why forfeit a home game and add travel fatigue?

Goody is in dangerous territory of doing what Beverage has done to the dogs, keeps his job after a flag but then screws up a good list in a premiership window because he can't adapt a gamestyle or system that can actually win games of football.

Said in post game last week that it is all talk with goody and that no tangible change will ever happen and he's proving me right, we can all see what is happening in front of us including him and yet it actually looks like we're getting worse. He'll talk about how that was the game we expected and GWS were good and that there are learnings to take from it, same thing over and over and we'll continue to lose the exact same way and continue to be inefficient entering the forward 50 and trying to convert, All talk zero walk.

Looked exactly like a dees game as he will say, more inside 50s more shots at goal and still loosing.

The sky hasn't quite fallen in but right now we are a bit of an 'almost' team. It's got a touch of last year about it re lost momentum and things just not falling into place.

Love what ANB brings to the table but I do agree that he probably needs a wake up call and a spell. Woey or Bailey Laurie should be given a chance at some point.

Unfair on Langdon.

Rest spot on.

Not so sure, Langdon is fairly ineffectual most of the time. At least compared to prior years.  Running 10kms doesn't mean much on it's own.

I love it, it's like watching local community footy every week.

Just wading blindfolded through the bile to let @Jaded No More in particular know that it’s Fritta’s foot AND ankle that are the issues. And it’s looking very bleak at this stage.

WCW out (until our next win) 🙄

Can someone enlighten me as to why Kozzie doesn’t get more midfield minutes? First game of the season rotate plenty through the centre. He was the main reason we rolled the dogs. Gets rubbed out, signs an extension and we play him exclusively forward and he is constantly a non factor……?

If we are serious as a football team that wants more premierships, his position should be under scrutiny form here onto the end of the season. No top 4? Miss the 8? Maybe we should start looking for other options.

Anyone thinking we're a serious finals contender...   pfffffffft 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Did I say it wasn’t?

I’m just sick to death of the “Loading Wars”.

Langdon reminds me of a certain side that said we played bruise free football, that's him.

Smith did alright with how we bring the ball in.

Harmes just shake head has no natural football brain.

ANB I think his main job is to get tackled to cause a ball up, time to go.

I give this post negative 900 stars. Wish I didn’t read it

"No one can beat us when at out best."

"Clearly we're loading."

"The conditions were shocking so don't judge us in that".

How we going fellas?! Which one is it?!

What's the excuse @A F?! Your responses are looking awfully silly!

How many years grace will our soft club give this guy?

At least 2 yrs of missing finals, maybe 3 before the club wakes up. By then it's rebuild time.

Because he is not a midfielder and never will be...

Why would you put someone so hell-bent on making the highlights package instead of playing the actual game into the midfield?

Going the sports entertainment angle, HQ will be very pleased 4th spot is very much up for grabs.

+70 disposals, +15 frees, +42 CPs, +19 clearances, +8 shots on goal, +27 inside 50s(!), but we lose.

It’s not loading, it’s not personnel (albeit we’re missing two of our 5 best players), it’s some combination of coaching and skill.

If we felt OK dropping Tomlinson after KB we should have dropped Smith after last week, instead of the better forward in JVR. We can’t make that mistake again. Brown’s a lumbering giant yet in the wet he had more touches than Smith and Melksham combined.

This is the FD’s last chance to make changes to the 23, the way we try to score, and the way we play, because we cannot keep doing this.

You have to laugh re the Presidents comment post Grand Final that we are setting up to have a dynasty with this team.

Yeh, right. We've been on the slide ever since.

  • GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs Adelaide

It's Game Day and the Demons are back on the road for their 3rd interstate game in 4 weeks as they face a fit and firing Crows at Adelaide Oval. With finals now out of our grasps what are you hoping from the Dees today?

  • WHAT’S NEXT? by The Oracle

What’s next for a beleagured Melbourne Football Club down in form and confidence, facing  intense criticism and disapproval over some underwhelming recent performances and in the midst of a four game losing streak? Why, it’s Adelaide which boasts the best percentage in the AFL and has won six of its last seven games. The Crows are hot and not only that, the game is at the Adelaide Oval; yet another away fixture and the third in a row at a venue outside of Victoria. One of the problems the Demons have these days is that they rarely have the luxury of true home ground advantage, something they have enjoyed just once since mid April.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
