Hawks 2 points behind the Bluesย

their 3 year rebuild looking a lot better than Carltonโ€™s 20 years one ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Didnt think the blues could drop much further than 14th but 16th is there for the taking.

ย

Must say the live ladder is doing my head in with games played by the various teams. Not looking forward to the world of 19 teams.

ย

Good result for us.

Longer term, Hawks have drafted well and looks like Mitchell is a good coach. They won't be cellar dwellers for long which is a pity cos i really dislike the Hawks and would love to see them languish for decade or more.

Good luck on the 250th Texโ€ฆbeen a great player for the Crows.ย

Lions have the softest run through to September of any team.ย  6 Gabba games mostly easy kills and big % boosters. A couple of winnable games in Melbourne and theyre still a huge chance for top 4.

How the hell did we lose to them in the semi last yearย  ffs.

It means nothing if they canโ€™t win away from home. And history suggests they cannot.ย

ย

Lions looked tired and slow. Donโ€™t get me wrong Iโ€™m happy they lost but I reckon this plays into the loading argument.ย Theyโ€™re a way better side than that performance and guaranteed come Sept they will be a very very good side.

There's a couple of players who have really stagnated at the Lions. Zak Bailey looked like he could be a star at one point. He may be a player needing a change of scenery - i.e. Dees. Not sure of his contract situation.ย

So the 2022 Hawks must have gone pretty well huh?

Once in a while the hawks do something good for us. ย  ย Juys need to the blues to somehow crush the druggies to keep that points gap.

The real question is, who has the worst tatts, Liberatore or Dixon.

No fan of Adelaide but I hope that every arrogant Eagles supporter that I ever encountered in my trips out west are miserable watching their team these days.ย

I lived there for 2 years, and couldn't agree more. One-eyed, ill informed, back country, red necked fools who are loud, dumb and hyper annoying.ย

You'd be disappointed if you were a Suns supporter with Rankine. Half-hearted squib with them.

They should have got both the King brothers that draft. ย Theyโ€™ve done pretty well with the Rankine pick the second time around though - Humphrey is a gun.

Um sorry just saw the Hawks lions score. How did that happenย

The Lions are loading for September and the hawks jumped them.

I think they'll make the Top 4 but disagree with you about the soft draw. They should thrash WCE in Brisbane R17 but I can't see them having big percentage boosters in too many other games. The have Away games against Melbourne (at the MCG), Collingwood (Marvel !?) & Fremantle. They play St Kilda twice (H&A) and St Kilda don't concede big scores. They also are playing Gold Coast away. They'll have to win more games than Melbourne to finish above us.

Eagles are bringing the game into disrepute.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Gold Coast

On Friday, the Demons return to our Casey Fields fortress where they have a 77% win rate. The scent of September is in the air and the struggling Suns are on the horizon. The Cranbourne weather forecast? Ominous, like the match itself: a strong chance of carnage. Letโ€™s be honest, last weekโ€™s first half against the West Coast was a training drill but we dropped our guard in the final quarter. While this match is a mismatch on paper โ€” second versus seventeenth โ€” football is won in the wind, the contests, and the moments.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #32 Tom Sparrow

The rugged Sparrowโ€™s career appears to have plateaued in recent years. He makes the side on a week to week basis but he is unable to establish a foothold in the teamโ€™s midfield and arguably performs best outside of the contest in a forward position without being a goal kicker. He remains a good honest foot soldier but is not a star.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #33 Tom Fullarton

Fullarton managed a couple of games in the first half of the season but soon found himself back in the VFL. There, he found a niche at centre half back but it was not enough to retain a place on the list at seasonโ€™s end.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #35 Harrison Petty

Entering 2025, it looked as if Petty would be secured in a defensive position, but plans shifted and he spent more time forward, averaging just over a goal per game throughout the season. It remains uncertain which area of the ground he will be expected to cover under the new coaching regime.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The dynamic small forward, possessing an innate ability to generate excitement with his explosive play around the goals, successfully transitioned into a role that afforded him more time in the midfield. The club also negotiated a long-term deal with Pickett, thereby eliminating any prospect of a move west by their star young player.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #37 Kade Chandler

For a few years now, he has been a reliable, hard working pressure forward, but in 2025, Chandler elevated his performance, becoming an integral component of the team with enough versatility to play effectively on a wing from time to time.
