DEEELUSIONAL NUFFY

We stayed behind at the G for a couple of celebratory beers & to dodge the filth crowd, before catching the train home. Still had the pleasure of getting the finger from one pie fan at Jolimont and then another drunk at Watsonia slurring out ‘you’ll be out in straight sets again’. They are all class.

There's nothing they can say at Victoria Park right now to make themselves feel better.

I just saw this on BF.  I swear I have to check if I'm in the middle of some bad episode of Twilight Zone...🤣

"Well I was thinking it might end up with me setting up a GoFundMe page, if only I was taller and stronger.

Had this terrible Melbourne supporter (4 of them but one was really a nutcase) in front of me who was already half under the weather before the game and after 6 cans was getting worse. Turning around really in my face and although none of you know me I hardly yell at the footy, too involved in who is playing where and the tactics of the game.

Would stand up and yell things like, the premiership is not played in June, colliwobbles (sigh), losers, we are the champions and more that I can't remember. I was so ready to respond but only to told him to sit down as I couldn't see and also my grand-daughter told me not to respond.

I so hate Melbourne, have never been to a game against them when I haven't had those type of supporters around me."

And in Part 2 of the bad Twilight Zone episode, something I never thought I'd ever hear a Collingwood supporter say:

"on a shocking side note, I don’t think the umpiring affected the result yesterday! Don’t think there was anything terribly notable."

WTH is going on!!!  I though something was a bit off with them when we never heard that "USA! USA!" chant after quarter time :)

shoutout to the teenage kids sitting behind me who started up with how langdon is a [censored] and then spent 3.5 quarters yelling personal abuse at any dees player they could see and then left with 5 mins to go. shoutout to their mum who said zip. MCC members by the way.

We're living rent free in their heads...

They'll be drifting off ....eyes shut .....to.the resplendid  sounds of " It's a Grand old Flag....."

I copped a spray from a ten year old at the station on my way in, under the watchful eye of filth father.  Just walked on by. As Whitney would say “i believe the children are our future, teach them well and let them lead the way.”

Two conversations I had with Collingwood supporters while near the slide before I went back to the safe haven of the Demon Army:

First Collingwood supporter.

CS (looking at me with venom in his eyes) - "I hate Melbourne"

Me (smiling, shrugging) - "That's okay, I hate Collingwood."

CS - "You haven't beaten us in 3 years."

Me (smiling) - "That's okay, you haven't won a premiership in 13 years."

Later on as the team is announced, he booed Brodie.

Me - "What are you booing him for?  He wanted to stay at your club."  His friend replied to him, "Yeah, that was pretty stupid."

Collingwood supporter 2

We were pretty crowded around the slide, and I was keeping an eye on my 12 year old nephew, who accidentally hit someone in the head with his flagpole and apologised straight away.

CS - "He's only a Melbourne supporter, he can be chucked out."

Me  (turning into protective Auntie mode) - "Really?  He's 12! Besides it's our home game, and as a member he has as much right than anyone to be here."

CS - screamed in my face that I'm a "f&*%ing arrogant entitled Melbourne supporter".

Because I was protecting a child from an adult bully.

Clearly someone who is 9-12 years old...or at least has the intelligence of one, which doesn't really help us at all now i come to think of it. Apologies for wasting a post.

They were very confident before the game including the tool who  put the $91000 on the pies to win just before the first bounce.

The phone number advertised at the ground would have sorted them out if rung. No reason to put up with that rubbish. Good banter is fine but personal abuse is just not on.

Monkey see monkey do   Collingwood fans should be banned from bringing their kids.  I have thought this for years.  Or perhaps just ban them from breeding altogether!

Haha nice move jerk!

These antisocial people need to be sorted out. I'm serious when I say this game is the only one where I feel I need to have my wits about me with opposition fans. Every other game is a walk in the park.

So the question is was a Collingwood supporter with this much money:

a)  A crack dealer?

b) A bank robber?

c) The collective dole cash for the cheer squad?

d) Not actually a Collingwood supporter?

Love the responses to supporter 1.  Supporter 2 - WTF are you serious?

BTW, I was there at the Gabba 3 years ago in 2020 when we absolutely belted them, which was soo enjoyable.

No Idea, I just do not understand footy betting. Might have a five dollar muiltie but some of the large bets are just silly. Lot of break-ins if it was a Pie supporter.

Isn't that called money laundering?

A Richmond supporting relo was here on Sunday, I told him I wasn't particularly looking forward to sitting amongst the filth tomorrow and he told me he hadn't been to a Collingwood game in years because of their supporters.

Funny thing is half my relatives and most of my close friends are Collingwood supporters and none of them are the lunatics you see at the games (though most of them rarely go to games).

tbh I found Pies supporters to be quite tame yesterday. comparative to what we're used to. they seemed quite humbled and accepting of the kids. almost praising. seems they kind of expected that one.

  • PREVIEW: Fremantle

A month is a long time in AFL football. The proof of this is in the current state of the two teams contesting against each other early this Saturday afternoon at the MCG. It’s hard to fathom that when Melbourne and Fremantle kicked off the 2025 season, the former looked like being a major player in this year’s competition after it came close to beating one of the favourites in the GWS Giants while the latter was smashed by Geelong to the tune of 78 points and looked like rubbish. Fast forward to today and the Demons are low on confidence and appear panic stricken as their winless streak heads towards an even half dozen and pressure mounts on the coach and team leadership.  Meanwhile, the Dockers have recovered their composure and now sit in the top eight. They are definitely on the up and up and look most likely winners this weekend against a team which they have recently dominated and which struggles to find enough passages to the goals to trouble the scorers. And with that, Fremantle will head to the MCG, feeling very good about itself after demolishing Richmond in the Barossa Valley with Josh Treacy coming off a six goal haul and facing up to a Melbourne defence already without Jake Lever and a shaky Steven May needing to pass a fitness test just to make it onto the field of play.

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Essendon

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
