Is there much difference in our form wet vs dry - for me out Port performance was no worse than the Freo one

Out of all the players that left last year it's Hunty the one that I feel for the most. Baker or Weids I couldn't give a stuff about.

Had he not done his ankle we would be talking about a premiership player.

Unfortunately he's now playing for a trash WAFL club which to me just doesn't look or feel right after all the [censored] years he went through.

He will win West Coasts B & F easily and then we will say......

And then we will say that he won their B&F because he was the only player on their list fit enough to play 24 rounds AND care enough to put in the work on the field.

So you want to replace our entire forward line with what? Casey’s forward line, so you can then complain about them?

Seems unlikely to be a successful decision.

I wnt BBB and SMITH BOTH in ths week, no bones about it. Forward line needs change

I think we need some more size forward and back without sacrificing too much mobility.

We also need more height in defence so we can free Lever to intercept.  We've got McKay-Curnow, Cox-Mihocek(-McStay?), Hawkins-Cameron-Henry in the next 3 matches.  Quire frankly if there were two Joel Smiths I'd bring him into the backline as well.  The alternatives we have are Tomlinson, Daniel Turner or TMac back and BBB into the forward line.  Tomlinson is not going to help with ground ball mobility in the backline, but it's a big ask for Disco to go with the array of forwards coming up.  Nevertheless, looking to the future I'd go with him even though it will be a baptism of fire, we've got to pull that trigger sooner rather than later.  McVee or Bowey comes out - I'd prefer to retain McVee of the two for size and grunt.  That's unless Hibberd needs a week off for his Achilles, but for Disco's sake it would be handy to have Hibbo in the team to add support. I'd add that Salem has hit the ground running in his return and has been great in the contest, with him there we rely less on Bowey's kicking.

Well summed up Old. Another option may be to bring in Schache to play back for the next two games to play on McKay and Cox.

I thought BBB competed pretty well and his mobility generally seemed better than it has been recently. I have been an advocate for Joel Smith but IMO he was disappointing.

Let's not forget that the two of them combined for a grand total of 3 goals against a Werribee team with zero listed AFL players - hardly knocking the door down IMO

If there is a change to our forward line, I think Chandler is the first to exit - the only way he survives is if he is given the task of negating Saad's influence

This game has disaster written all over it (for the MFC). Carlton are really under the spotlight and are under huge amounts of pressure to perform.

If the playing group is united, we are in for one hell of a fight. Even with their big outs.

They aren’t experiments they have shown enough, maybe they need tests but both of them have had impacts across their lines

Posters are at their worst directly after a loss and I'll concede I got that one wrong, in terms of using the word ''experiment.''

McVee's been good in most games and I'd have to re-watch the game to determine if he was beaten on the day. He certainly had a low impact possession game (as did his senior mates down back).

Chandler has been well down since the North win and I was hoping he would respond with a 2-3 goal game and 12+ touches. Instead he got 0 and 6 and was subbed off.

I do think Chandler is at real risk of getting dropped this week.

Makes a change from "danger" I suppose.

Carlton love to attack through the corridor and quickly, they also like to switch the play (our Achilles’ heels).

We need to study the Blues vs Lions game earlier in the year. Brisbane denied them the corridor at all costs and so must we.

Carlton couldnt attack through a wet paper bag at the moment.

Its entirely up to MFC what the scoreboard reads at final siren.

If we lose then we have no hunger.

Will struggle to win 13 to make the 8 in a 23 game season.

We'll win..

i think.

Deserving of “The Far Side” footy award!

This has a Carlton win and McKay to kick 6 goals straight feel about it, I wonder what the odds are lol

Juicy enough to get on board for an emotional hedge

Listening to his presser the fwd line isn’t the problem all the stats against Freo were good except we didn’t convert

I can see it now.

Tribunal sums up after allowing the appeal, that no reasonable person or footballer, could have foreseen, that a smaller player, dragging a bigger player to the ground, would cause the bigger player to hit his head on the ground twice and that after all, he really didn't mean to do it and he is sorry.

You missed a bit: Decision reached to dismiss the tribunal review achieved in 4 minutes ... clearly the charge could not be sustained.

BBB made his best moves with North leading for the ball. He no longer does that. His reach could well help against Carlton, either marking or tapping to advantage. He needs some guts (bravery) to make the difference.

JSmith can lead. JSmith can recover and go again, aware of backline (opponents') tactics and methods.  JSmith is not currently injured. JSmith must be the hungriest man in the whole of the MFC. JSmith deserves a coupla games to get conditioned as a leading forward - and so should Sparrow, holding down CHFwd  with mobility and grunt. We have the scurrying mice to support leading forwards and tap-ons. Petracca needs a target, so its pink socks for JSmith and a gorilla mask.

Journalists must hate Goodwin. He just diffuses everything and only talks about what we can control. It’s painfully boring, and exactly what the club would want from him.

I see my Milkshake's been thrown in the bin.

Im still not inclined to go too tall.. (fwd)  bombing it in in the wet hasn't been the success the brains trust expected.

Im leaning towards Tomlinson in ( frees up Lever somewhat )to reshape the backline more like it used to be when it worked.

Bit of at a loss as to who boosts the fwd line now.
