TMac must never play again. If this club wants to give our forward line something then let Schache play [censored]!

Salem is soft, Max is soft, Lever is soft (and a liability in the air), Fritta is soft, Spargo is soft.

Where the [censored] has our ruthless running and physicality gone?

Major decisions and lists changes are needed if we are wanting to realistically contend again with this list. Goodwins time has come and gone, as the boys are no longer committing to the gameplan (he cannot inspire the players anymore).

Let’s see what the pres does, as it’s easy to come in when times are good, how all she react when there is a little pressure. I hope unlike our coach she freezes and opts for the defensive faith in the system.

Our club has complacently reverted back to being reactive. Also, can we find another name for Melbourne in the indigenous language other than Narrm, as we are doing that name a disservice.

Gawn and Grundy in a battle to see who can be the most useless ruck.

Teams just drag May away from the ball and play through Lever, but Goodwin can't counteract this.

We play 4 small forwards each week, 3 of whom get in every one's way and don't kick goals.

McVee and Van Rooyen should have been given a rest 3 weeks ago. I have no idea why Salem is in the team with no match practice.

The sooner we freshen up the coaching panel and the playing list, the better.

I would like an apology from the poster on here who said I was being dramatic when I said post game last week that our season was tittering on the brink.

Oliver is our most important player by a fair margin. Even with him in the side we can barely win the ground ball or get a meaningful clearance anymore. I don’t think we will win a game now until he’s back in the side, unless something very drastic changes.

Blues are under the pump, Pies will have an easy kill and Geelong in Geelong will be a one sided affair. Losing him and Petty could not have come at a worse time, but a good team learns to overcome. We are obviously not a good team right now.

Would have preferred a win but that was easy money with freo at $3

Couldn't afford not to load up

Why will get the same result, until Goody decides to change tack nothing will change.

Ben Brown, I would say his stats of 17 kicks, 2 hbs, 7 marks & 1 goal look pretty good to me.

Harmes can leave for anybody.   That kick that he tried to intercept that was meant for van rooyen cost us the game

No... any of the easy missed goals cost us!

Don't forget Petty.

Today Petty plays in the back and Freo kicks at least 3 less goals. Freo is very ordinary.

Such a waste of talent? Waste of a list? I think not. Our list is overrated. We will lose the next 3 on the trot and topple out of the 8 and will fight to make it back in given the difficulty of our draw.

Our game plan and structure is soo pathetically bad it’s predictable how sides will continue to cut us up in the middle.

I’m going to sleep. Wake me up in another 57 years please.

Why didn’t we put Kosi into the middle in the last? We were getting mauled in there time and time again.
The game was all but lost so try something!

Goodwin doesn’t like admitting he gets things wrong

It’s a good old fashioned Demonland meltdown. It’s official though…..we’re [censored].

It's been a while, but start getting used to it again.

Good news GTG, it’s only 55 to wait

We’re 0 wins 4 losses as Naarm. Stuff it

1-3. Beat Norf last year.

We are going to have to pay more attention to stoppage. Relying on turnover is not getting it done.

Probably also need to change from zone defence.

If losing to [censored] Freo at home isn’t worthy of a meltdown, what is?

I agree, I can't really buy into these "most talented list in the comp" discussions. Half the players on this list are above average kicks at best.

Blowtorch needs to come onto Goody sure his a premiership coach but is he pushing us over the cliff?? The window is shut on current form , who’s in charge of our clearances , I believe Yze well we continue to get smashed!

He's not alone.

He was pivotal in our 2021 campaign. Outstanding. But he was ordinary before it, and has been ordinary since it. If we’re any chance of a flag, Lever getting back to his best is priority #1 IMO.

Such poor connection through the middle and into the forward line.

I now just assume that players such as ANB and even Brayshaw will more often than not cough it up.

Here’s disposal efficiency for those moving through the middle

Viney 37%
ANB 44%
Brayshaw 52%
Grundy 53%
Petracca 58%
Harmes 64%
Pickett 64%
Langdon 74%
Sparrow 78%
Salem 79%
Gawn 87%

In contrast, I could only find 1 Walyalup player on 50% and almost all were 60-70% plus and they were facing just as much pressure as us.

The decision making and skill errors behind those numbers are killing us.

Viney at 37% with 7 inside 50s.

Great ball use there.

One thing that doesn't get mentioned enough: Lever has been [censored] rubbish this season.

It’s not even that he misses most marks these days, it’s the way he consistently lets the ball go behind him when he misses the mark. Shadow of what he used to be. Can’t blame not having another tall back down  there because hibbo has been brilliant all year as that 3rd tall

It is a waste IMO. The coaching group has stuffed things since middle last season.

I think at our best we can be top 4. However Goodwin is clearly an overrated coach, it looks like 2021 was his one magic year. I hope I am wrong but that's how I perceive him, and I am tired of the lessons and learnings.

Everyone happy with the umpiring?

No, Freo played bloody good footy actually.

But this [censored] sucks so much, [censored]

No they didn't, we were just sh1tter, which is more of a concern

We are 14 wins 19 losses in games decided by 10 points or less under Goodwin.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
