Woey won't be the sub. Demons never name debutantes as the sub.

Poor JJ ... he really is on the outer. Thought he was a certainty to be in the 22 ahead of Harmes.

Walters being injured is something of a bonus. He's the type of player who cuts us up.

Good to see Harmesy back in, you would think Gus starts on the wing.

Well we can kiss Jordan goodbye at the end of the year!

I would guess Rivers or even Harmes go to the wing before Gus.  But who knows

Well, I look like a bit of a goose. What happened @Dannyz? 😭

Agree and super surprised JJ didn't get the nod ahead of Harmes. I thought his Casey game was better than Harmes and that he would be a no-brainer to replace Hunter on the wing. JJ is definitely on the outer 😟

Guarantee Gus won’t start there

Oh well it looks like we’re going to lose a very solid future 200 game player at years end

Sad to see you go JJ

So Walters is out injured and no-one comes in?

It's not that hard to provide the ins and out guys! I'm sure this means the sub from last week comes in, so we have to go look who was the sub?  jesus.  just tell us who is in and out of the 22!

I couldn't give a rats about the sub!

Can you guarantee who will ?

I’ll give the FD one more go at the JVR-TMac set up, and the no-third-tall defender set up.

But neither have me convinced and I’ll be more than a little peeved if we lose in circumstances which suggest a different tall mix might have made a difference.

It means last week’s sub, Fyfe, is “in”.

AFL has to change the rules to mean clubs name 23 plus three emergencies. If the sub is credited with a game, the sub should be named alongside the 22.

I'd be happy to see a bit more of Rivers in the middle.

I agree about Gus. He doesn't look fit enough for an on-ball or wing role

I'm glad we kept the fwd line the same, we can't keep swapping T Mac and BB around.  And Chandler and JVR have been our best fwd options and although have been poor the last couple, should bounce back.  They are young and will have quiet games, especially when our midfield is being belted

Yep. I don't see why he'd want to stay.

I like Sparrow and I think Harmes might have helped us against Yartapuulti if he’d run with Butters. One or both of them will probably come in next week.

Ahem.

I would play both Gus and Rivers out of the middle. Harmes can play forward or he could be used to tag Brayshaw.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
