I wonder if it might be the other way around. Jordon may appear to be ahead of Harmes because he (JJ) was sub and Harmes didn't play at all. But I suspect Harmes will play the Sparrow role better than Jordon. On the other hand, if it was Viney or Oliver who needed to be replaced, I would expect Jordon to play ahead of Harmes. It's all about the role being played.

The more I think about it, the more I wonder whether Salem comes in with either Brayshaw or Rivers moving from defence to take on the Sparrow role.

Good points and Harmes available to tag.

T Mc, BBB, J Smith, Melksham, Schache or no one (with Tracc probably forward more).

I probably lean towards Tommy if he’s had a couple of good weeks on the track given Petty has mostly played more of a lead up CHF role.

Maybe Schache if he hasn’t? Schache played defensive forward or Aliir in the Dogs prelim final win. If the Dees coaches are reading this, go pull out the tape of that game and watch big Schach.

Was lucky enough to speak to someone from the club last week.  And amongst other things, the Pies come up in our conversation and he said words to the effect of ‘we can’t wait to play them, because we think our backline and defensive structure will stack up well against them’. I replied, yeah but wouldn’t Petty need to go back against them, and he said, ‘no, Petty has been our best performing forward and we prefer him up there’.

Chandler plays a role where you will have quiet games. Small forwards have the hardest role in footy in terms of getting big stats. Sometimes they'll kick 3, sometimes they'll touch it twice a game. It's just luck of the draw and really depends on how the rest of the side is playing.

I think as long as Chandler keeps up his defensive role, he is perfectly fine.

BTW he had 12 touches, 3 score involvements and 3 clearances. These are super similar stats to Spargo, but Spargo kicked 2 and that's how the dice rolled this week.

Good point. As a matter of fact, it did occur to me when watching the replay that there are times in every game where the ball always seems to by played on the other wing - hence Langdon's relative quietness in the first half and Hunter's in the second half. The same probably applies to Chandler. I really love the way he plays, with heart and soul and great skill. So I take it back....

I think Smith has been in the best form in the VFL. I think he should get the shot. Very upset for Petty, hope to see him back soon.

In:  T-Mac, Jordon into the 22, i would like to see Howes or Laurie as sub but think it will be Melksham

Out: Petty, Sparrow

Loving the flipped feedback that NOW Petty is out, its a problem for us.

It's only been for the last month on this forum that Petty has contributed to a dysfunctional forward line and he is far better suited in defence.

This stacks up to where both teams sit on scores from stoppages, scores from turnovers and scores from kick ins. Thanks for the info, Edward Platt. ❤️

Well this aged poorly…

Interesting that the club got that quite wrong. The way the cookie crumbles, I guess.

Likely changes now

outs.  Petty inj. Sparrow susp

ins Tmcd/BBB , Jordon (Harmes as sub)

when we lost Petty last week , our forward line looked less dangerous in the air.  JVR and Gawn/Grundy.  Goody tried Gawn forward after 1/2 time but we needed him on the ball.

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res
