I know we should never take a result for granted, but has there ever been a week on Demonland when at least one poster hasn't described the upcoming match as a "danger game"?

I was worried about that game (then I worry about every game)   Thought 5 day break  would affect us.     How Collingwood does it in a hard slog come from bejhind against adelaide at adelaide is beyond me  I had $20 on Adelaide at $2.20   Bummer

Brisbane in round 2. See how that worked out for us?

I wonder when McVee gets a rest? I reckon he's struggled the last two weeks.

I reckon they'll keep him on onto Salem returns.

Need I remind everyone they beat Geelong up there earlier on.

7 out of 9 in my tips this week. Missed Giants and Pies !!! Can you believe it.  Got Suns and Power as upsets. Ps. Swans to beat Pies this week 👍🏻

It’s bad management to drop Schache after one game

I’d bring in Spargo for Jordan

Petty for Hibberd

Rinse and repeat

I agree with this?

Where does one park when going to a Gold Coast game?  Driving down from Sunshine Coast for this and I can't make heads or tails of the Gold Coast Councils parking rules / durations for 'Traffic Area' in nearby streets.  If anyone has done this before, can you please enlighten me? Right now i feel like I will have to park 30+mins away and walk.

On the hill near the wing mate.

Gold Coast aren't particularly good. Touk is injured which is a big loss. They've beaten the Cats and now the Tiges so have to be respected but they are just as likely to serve up rubbish as deliver a good performance.

Witts is an excellent ruckman, Lukocious and Anderson are very good, Ben King if he's in the humour for it and I've always liked Sam Collins. He's tough and could play for a top 4 team. After that, they're average.

I think we've got the Lions and Essendon performances out of our system and are back in the groove. We should win by 4-5 goals if the Suns play well and if they don't we'll put 50-60 points on them.

Petty to return Schache as sub or Harmes.

I think Goody might look to give Shack back to back games.  Didn't set the world on fire but did do some nice work.

Perhaps he did his 'role' well.. 🤷🤷

Petty is a backman ( only ) imho.

I don't pickem ....so i guess we'll see.

Continuity can be a Good thing.

Looks like schache will be out with wrist injury according to the training thread.

Petty is the obvious in.

Perhaps not ... Concussion ptotocols ??

Think they're playing different roles. If Salem comes back it is probably for Bowey. McVee is often minding the medium forward/midfielder. Jayden Hunt's role from last year.

Didn't Goodwin say Petty will be back regardless?

He can't usurp concussion rules 🥴

It took us all night to beat the tigers, they are in this match and will go in confident they can win.

That logic doesn't quite hold up, old dee.

Have you heard about the circle of parity? You can run through all 18 clubs by saying "A beat B, but B beat C, but C beat D" and so on until you get back to where you started.

The fact we didn't put Richmond away until late, whereas Gold Coast jumped them early, does not mean we're worse than Gold Coast.

I think a 3 quarter sub out should be another mechanism we explore rest our best. The weekend game was a good example of resting Hibbo when the game was done.

The game against the Suns might give us another opportunity to this.

Also we have a twilight game, hopefully we can wrap up the game before the sun sets and humidity picks up and the ball gets all dewy.

There is more than one way to skin a cat and in terms of resting players this is a good example. Not a single player played 100% game time on the weekend, we started multiple quarters with Gawn, Trac and other key players on the bench. Last year we were 10-0 but our game plan was labour intensive, we got a lead early but didn’t have the fitness to ice games early in the last to put teams away and rest players, many teams got right back at us in the last, see Hawthorn, Essendon etc. Do what we did to the Roos against GC and our best players will get the best of both worlds, keep form, touch and the speed of the game and play 70% game time with plenty of rest with the hopeful option to rest one with the sub.

For me it’s:

Out: Schache(injured), Hibberd (rested), Jordon(sub)

In: Petty (back), BBB, Spargo, (Jordon or Melksham to sub)

Where's the "What they are saying in..." Thread this week? I'm sure their supporter would be buzzing this week.

Serious question did you watch the Casey game ? Not sure how BB gets a recall on that performance

I didn't watch the Casey game. Is BB's issue injury, form or both.

  • GAMEDAY: Geelong

It's Game Day, and reinforcements are finally arriving for the Demons—but will it be too little, too late? They're heading down the freeway to face a Cats side returning home to their fortress after two straight losses, desperate to reignite their own season. Can the Demons breathe new life into their campaign, or will it slip even further from their grasp?

  • PREVIEW: Geelong

"It's officially time for some alarm bells. I'm concerned about the lack of impact from their best players." This comment about one of the teams contesting this Friday night’s game came earlier in the week from a so-called expert radio commentator by the name of Kane Cornes. He wasn’t referring to the Melbourne Football Club but rather, this week’s home side, Geelong. The Cats are purring along with 1 win and 2 defeats and a percentage of 126.2 (courtesy of a big win at GMHBA Stadium in Round 1 vs Fremantle) which is one win more than Melbourne and double the percentage so I guess that, in the case of the Demons, its not just alarm bells, but distress signals. But don’t rely on me. Listen to Cornes who said this week about Melbourne:- “They can’t run. If you can’t run at speed and get out of the contest then you’re in trouble.

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit.
Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

For a brief period of time in the early afternoon of yesterday, the Casey Demons occupied top place on the Smithy’s VFL table. This was only made possible by virtue of the fact that the team was the only one in this crazy competition to have played twice and it’s 1½ wins gave it an unassailable lead on the other 20 teams, some of who had yet to play a game.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

In my all-time nightmare game, the team is so ill-disciplined that it concedes its first two goals with the courtesy of not one, but two, fifty metre penalties while opening its own scoring with four behinds in a row and losing a talented youngster with good decision-making skills and a lethal left foot kick, subbed off in the first quarter with what looks like a bad knee injury.
