Viney - wonderful second half

Grundy - dominated when required

May - steady and safe

Langdon - surprisingly wasteful early

Fritsch - classy when involved

Brayshaw - struggled getting involved

Lever - lacked spatial awareness

Rivers - continued impressive season

Chandler - an important contributor

Spargo - disposal elite again

Neal-Bullen - was rarely sighted

van Rooyen- tried but quiet

Bowey - continued valuable involvement

Hibberd - quiet before substitution

McVee - confident and reliable

Petty - unconvincing up forward

Oliver - prolific as expected

Hunter - consistent and reliable

Pickett - better second half

Petracca - surprisingly didn’t dominate

Jordon - limited but contributed

McDonald - an impressive return

Sparrow - a standard game

Neal-Bullen - Very important player

Just did enough

Wasted many opportunities

Too many turnovers

Tackling impressive overall

Thankful for Grundy

Tmcd welcome back

Kozzy almost amazing

Gotta love JV

Fritsch all class

lots just satisfactory

Trac kicked straight

Goal-line tech f@$@$&@$&d

Thought Sparrow was 'above standard' today.

Starting to his use strength to break away from tackles.

Thought Nibbler was excellent. In a game where we weren't clean it was the tackles and pressure that counted and he smashed it in both categories.

Also tackled very well

joeboy, back to your ‘slightly’ controversial best. Did you mistakenly wear your bottom of the coke bottle specs? With prescription standard  correction you’d get clearer 60 60 vision. Respectfully suggest:

Angus Brayshaw;  battled man fully

Alex Neal-Bullen; nibbled not nobbled

Auto-correct can be bloody annoying!

I think Angus would need to have 100 possessions @ 100% and your comment would :  Doesn't share !!

ANB worked his ring off!!!

Hardly sighted
Please

It is good to see ANB working so hard and his ground coverage is tremendous (most opposition sides tend to divert around him, now. as a consequence). His defensive game is really improving; and, it is just great when he is nearing the goals - he has improved his accuracy and kit-bag of kicking skills to score rather frequently and often, has found space in which to deploy.

Petty, Not a Forward!

Could not watch and listened after a few glasses of Shiraz,

so on these observations

MFC. Many diverse views.

really good to have a lightening rod to attract differing opinions

thanks joeboy

Funny how people have such different perspectives.

I sighted Anb numerous times. I saw about 7 hard tackles from him.

Played well.

Melbourne have held talks with Clayton Oliver and they’ve laid out where he fits in under Steve King’s vision and been frank about expectations. Oliver is still under contract for five years, but the door is open if he wants to explore his options elsewhere.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Essendon

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 2 Jacob van Rooyen

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
