How can Fritta bump 'The McCartins' out of the way.  Must be against the laws of physics.

He’s one of those players that instinctively knows when to bump players when they’re slightly off balance. A natural footballer.

Great effort. Needed a good win against a tough team.

Our intent to compete and intensity getting into defensive position were much closer to 2021 levels and more where they need to be. Made their switching harder by closing spaces so much faster than we have been. We competed harder in the air and at ground level than we have in a long time. Our pressure around the ball meant we could force them to kick to the areas we want them kicking to, instead of letting them dictate the game to us.

Good week by the selectors too...we need competitors playing all over the ground and they finally got that right with JVR over McDonald.

Superb performance. Hard to find any fault really and the perfect response to last week’s aberration.

The only thing I would add that hasn’t been mentioned already was our set shots were flawless. I don’t we missed one all day. Makes such a difference to kick straight and apply score board pressure.

And great to put the Swans hoodoo to rest. I was sick of getting beaten by that mob.

Yes.  He's a good decision maker

6 disposals from Spargo resulted in 2 goals, 1 goal assist, 3 score involvements. Every touch led to a score.

I wonder if he’ll get midfield minutes when builds a tank in 2-3 years time.

Grundy was good but he should have been. That's a game he should play well in. Sydney lacked ruck depth today. His performance was as we'd expect. Same as most players. At our best we are hard to beat.

He has really stepped up in both our wins.

JJ also does so much better playing in the guts. I’d have him in there before Viney (whose form is a worry).

Sparrow came into it more as the game got older.

Spargo gets a very bad wrap on here. The numbers crucifying him for his attempt near half time, he was at least 5 meters away from it. He had a good game (and I’m not his biggest supporter).

Need to keep up this momentum. Go Dees

I'd Drop Viney next week, for Kossy. Vineys last two weeks have been back to the Viney of old and you all know what that is.... The Rugby player!!!

Chandler also ran about 100m at top pace to make position for the kick to him. Then showed Buddy how to kick for goal!

Yep, was ready on the other wing for a switch but was ignored. Worked his butt off beating 2/3 Swan players to run deep into the 50 and leading up for the mark. Play of the day for me.

The Kossie inclusion dilemma.can’t drop Chandler, Spargo or Nibbler. Would not be right to drop JJ, probably on firm should be Jack but that can’t happen. Sparrow? Play smaller fwd line and give BBB a rest?

Chandlers commitment to the contest, endeavour and enthusiasm is outstanding. Has arrived.

He's a bit of a human wrecking ball. Hits the contest at pace.

Loved his kicking today too.

Welcome the all new super innovative, flexible footy department. Who really thought they would throw Petty forward to accompany JvR - love it. Presume with a tall oppo fwd line we play Tommo or TMac and with a shorter oppo fwd line we play Hibbo.

A lot to like about the game. Few points that  pleased me most and I think point to the improvements we have made in the off season.
1.- We have recruited well, Grundy had a great game and I thought Hunter had he’s best game for us too and will only get better.

2.- Casey players standing up. Mcvee, JVR and Chandler all had great games and must play again next week.

3.- We have our fitness levels back. Even at the start of last season when we won our first 10 games we didn’t seem to run out the last quarter well, we certainly did tonight.

4.- Goody and the coaching staff have stepped up made the changes we needed to make. Our ball use going i50 has become so much better this year as seen by the amount we scored tonight and the amount of goal scores we had.
Another change from last season from the coaching panel is our flexibility, throwing Petty forward, we are nowhere near as predictable with our kick ins and   Our goal kicking looks to have improved as well. Thanks Chocco

I thought Paddy was dreadful today. I don't think my two year old would be outmuscled by Fritta, but he did it easily. Paddy also turned the ball over a number of times.

The McCartins were central to Sydney's rise up the ladder last year, their intercept game was elite, ala May and Lever the previous year.

Sydney looked very suspect in D50 today. Just as we did last week. Will be interesting to see how they go against Port.

I would too, but they won't.

Historically, it can take Jack a bit of time to hit his straps. I thought he was easily our worst today.

He's a very important cog in our machine.

Is also a tough nut, so good at applying pressure and helping retain the ball in our forward 50.

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc.
