"Sent for" scans has a different connotation to "went in" for scans. One could be to analyse a new injury, the other for a check to see if a previous repair is still OK.

Hopefully, as we haven't heard anything.

Assuming May returns, Petty forward with Tomlinson remaining down back is definitely the play should T Mac miss (and they deem JVR not ready yet)

I remember seeing vision of McDonald and Goodwin in what looked like a serious discussion after the match to which McDonald and Goody both looked down  towards his foot.

I do the same every time I do my business in the toilet. Maybe they were admiring his post-game bog?

As a long time demonland watcher before I joined, that's the most toilet humoured post I've ever read from you.

I’m not suggesting that we should rush him. Never have, nor have I ever questioned the club’s management of him.
I’m just saying that it seems like something far more sinister than a bruised foot. As you say perhaps a stress fracture. Which is very concerning for our best forward. Especially when TMac and BBB are also not exactly the pillar of health.

It’s not a fracture, but if it was not handled properly, it could’ve easily turned into one and that’s why he was on light duties. It’s that simple.

I’ve just sped read the above texts.

If he is injured I would like to think that the positive is that we have depth and options to bring in and cover for him. I’ll let others debate / decide who it should / will be.

Gives exposure to the up and coming players and gives TMac a chance to come good. Fingers crossed.

It’s a long season, unfortunately shiiiit is going to happen from time to time.

Different incident. Stafford didn’t trod on Fritta’s foot.

I understand why you believe it wasn't Stafford however I found out Saturday night the same foot was trod on again at training at the start of the week. Not as badly as the original but it explains why he wasn't selected. My source didn't know who was the culprit as Fritta wouldn't give them up and that's fair enough.

Oh FFS give him steel capped footy boots.

It’s not that I believe it wasn’t Stafford, I know it wasn’t Stafford.

Fritta narrowly missed out on selection but that’s not due to his foot being re-injured last week, because that simply never happened.

Your source might be confused with an incident that happened late last season involving Stafford.

I think I know who your source is and clearly that person doesn’t know all the facts or is a bit confused. Otherwise, how is it that I know the details (eg who the mystery treader is) and your source doesn’t?

edit: your source doesn’t mind a drink or ten, right? 😁 Likely adds to the confusion.

I might have mentioned he has big flipper feet.

I wasn't suggesting it was Stafford, I was saying my source said it had happened again and I don't think you could have verified that on Saturday night. I'm also not saying my source is better than yours I'm simply stating I spoke to someone on Saturday night who I believe.

I couldn’t have verified it because it never happened. And I was on the phone with “my source” at halftime on Saturday night, as well as Sunday morning… no mention of it having happened again. In fact, I had to bail early on my source’s party last weekend as I took ill and she, or he, called and/or texted me every day last week to ask how I was, again… no mention of it.

I never implied your person was lying. But clearly there’s been miscommunication. Which is understandable but should be explained wherever possible.

Now on THAT we can agree. 👍🏽

Tom is one scan away from retirement.

I didn't think it would be this week though

With Pickett out then if Fritta is okay he has to play. I reckon May won't play but McDonald will. If McDonald is out the Petty option up forward or just bring in JVR.

Really crossing my toes he's OK.

I know he has his detractors but he was very instrumental in our 21 flag.

Even if he doesn't always seemingly play a starring role he will always take the best defender and free up other fwds to play a big part.

It can't be a coincidence how many more wins we have had by a huge margin with him in then out.

His comittment and passion is huge. He would play on one leg if he could and for all we know probably has at times.

All for younger talent being played and developed but Tmac is still definitely in our best 22.

and . . . um . . .

play CHF in a premiership side. Less than 100 men have done it in 127 years.

And I confidently forecast neither JVR or Love Shack will do it in 2023.

Let me get this straight:

neither Schache or JVR can run out the game or run in similar patterns to TMac

Yes he played in a Premiership and all going well he'll play in another. However if he's injured as has been alluded to and it's his foot again, then I'd say he's getting close to cooked. This site has gone on about JVR like he's the next David Schwarz so I'm keen to see him play. Schache was recruited to back up the forwards and to pinch hit in the ruck so I'd like to see him play as well. As I said I'm a TMac fan but he did little on Saturday night beyond freeing up Brown. If he's even sore I'd play someone else. I am impatient for the future though, that's my curse.

It's not me!!

It seems some don’t believe T Mac when he said he’ll be good to go this week.

Have you seen any of his AFL games?

No disrespect to Josh who I hope is ready to go if needed but I actually don't want to see him play.

JVR will get his chance, there's no need to rush it.

McDonald did little more than hit up and create space but look at the Dogs forward line and Lever being best on ground and realise there's a lot of value in a lead up CHF who covers a stack of ground.

  • Thank You Simon Goodwin

As Demon fans, we’ve ridden a rollercoaster of emotions over the decades; the heartbreaks, the near misses, the wooden spoons, and the endless waiting. But through it all, we clung to hope. And then came Simon Goodwin. Before he ever wore red and blue, he was a champion in his own right. A five-time All-Australian, two-time Best and Fairest, and two-time premiership hero and Captain with Adelaide, Simon Goodwin was always destined to lead. When he transitioned from the field to the coach's box, first as an assistant at Essendon, he began shaping a new legacy.

  • PREVIEW: Western Bulldogs

Long ago and far away, the Melbourne Football Club replaced its coach in difficult circumstances after the team suffered a devastating loss. In the aftermath, I penned the following words: “Then came the politics, the intrigue, the axing, the sound of the football world laughing at a club, the circling of the media vultures, the reinvention of history, the anger, the irony, the pathos, the hurt on the face of the president, the dignified departure of the coach, and the determination of the newly appointed caretaker.” Today, we’re back in the same place although one difference here is that the coach who was terminated this time is Simon Goodwin, the man who four years ago

The Charles Dickens novel, A Tale of Two Cities, opens with, “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, …”  This phrase highlights many of the significant challenges that humanity encounters in life, ranging from experiencing remarkable highs to living in times of despair. This is a concept that should resonate with all supporters of the Melbourne Football Club this morning as they reflect on its comprehensive 83-point victory over the struggling West Coast Eagles at Marvel Stadium. The outcome proved beyond doubt that they are the worst of clubs and that we are the best of the worst.
