T Mac played finals after a long lay off and Brown will get fit.  So to discount these as not playing is way off the mark .

Brown’s knee is cooked and TMac has met Father Time in a hurry. He was completely ineffectual. He can’t move

If we end up using a later pick for someone else then we are idiots

The later pick would be for brown who is a father son might cop a bid later in draft

I just have missed something with Shane McAdam.  I thought he was a borderline beat 22 at both clubs… how do you ‘play hardball over that’?

Admittedly I haven’t paid a heap of attention to him as a player, so I’ve braved Big Footy on and off recently, specifically to gauge how Crows fans (and neutrals) feel about it. Have also watched what vision I can find easily enough.

My takeaway is that he’s generally regarded as an 18-22 player, but this view is a little clouded by his suspension. Not saying that he’s a thug or anything. Just that he was really starting to find some form and had entered “locked-in” status, but after three weeks out the team was relatively-humming, and he struggled to work his way back in.

I generally see him as the best replacement for Melksham on offer. He might not be perfect, but Jake also had his fair share of walks through the desert. But McAdam is certainly capable of those high-agility, leading-forward bursts that Melksham provided. Especially with a new start and attitude.

Don’t get why people are confused if the draft was tomorrow we would only be using picks 6 and 11 then possibly getting f/s at end of draft and potentially upgrading turner and mcvee from rookie list, so as it stands right now we will only use 2 live picks so no point hanging onto 2 nd round picks might aswell get as high up the order as possible

We still have to trade for McAdam and Fullerton.

One young gun will not solve WCE's problems. They will need several young players and i believe they will trade pick 1 for access to them.

We have several 26/27 year old top players. Reid would be expected to come in and add value pretty quickly.

North want multiple picks for young players and they are getting them via AFL kindness.

Not a fan of trading Petty. Not sure how the club see Adams, Turner and Jefferson coming on as KPP'S.

There is something cooking at the MFC for sure.

The other side of the coin is that the club see us picking good players with those picks.

I note that we have freed up a lot of CAP space with Grundy and Harmes off the list = circa $1 mill.

I note we also have some young players at VFL level up for their 2nd/3rd or 4th preseason, eg Woey, Howes, Adams, Jefferson.

Pretty is a 197cm premiership player at 23 years of age and could possibly turn into a forward. Why on earth do people want to let him go for pick 10 + maybe something in the 20's? Madness.

Only one poster has really put that forward. Old mate, Jimmy 'The Grass is always greener on the other side' The Man Jordan.

So much for bringing in a number of talent through the door...

We want quality over quantity, mate. If it means only taking one player in the tip 29, then so. be it, if it's Reid.

Is there a method to the madness by Lamb ??? It seems we have been shafted by the Swans getting Grundy for pick 46 after we gave pick 27!for him  …. They also got JjJ & Adams from the pies for pick 33, & we lost harmes for pick  30 …what ever trades we do will name or break us & if no genuine fwd is gotten it will be another flopped trade to go along with the 22 draft

Correction. We got pick 46 and next year’s second round for Grundy.

Why do people ignore future picks? 🤷‍♀️

Our realistic next target is GWS Pick 7/16 for Haynes salary dump. Maybe give GWS our F1 to sweeten the deal and secure 7. Can adjust % salary dump to suit the conditions as well.

6+7 gets Reid I reckon. We hold 11 for O’Sullivan. F3 (WB) for Fullerton, 41 for Brown. Not sure on McAdams.

You also need the next wave of talent coming through.

Bringing in 1 kid in the top 30 and then topping up the rest with NQR's isn't smart list management at all.

Midfield and backline talent is completely bare. We've drained midfield depth with the loss of Jordon, Harmes and Dunstan.  Woewodin is the only midfield young talent coming through.

Had an opportunity to top up on some up and coming outside wingman and class through the draft and yet we continue to neglect this side of our list.

I'm not completely writing off our our strategy so far this trade period, but on face value it's confusing.

Lets not forget also that the last few years of list management decisions haven't been great either over the trade period.

Fullerton will be a future pick as lions need points next year, McAdam will be a pick in 30s or 40s

How does this work? Haven't we lost a truck load of players to delistings, trades and retirement? Who's going to replace them?

I think you will find plenty of volunteers on this site.

You clearly live in an echo chamber of happy clapper demon supporters who over rate their list. Pettys best is behind him. Mini rebuild time cause we suck

AFL needs some excitement for next Wednesday night....

Tom Morris is such a germ.

If Adelaide want us to let go of Petty, our only decent KPF outside JVR, in a team that couldn't score enough to win a final, send us Fogarty.

Edited by Yossarian

I’m gonna do a Tom Morris and put 2 and 2 together and come up with 7….

"It's officially time for some alarm bells. I'm concerned about the lack of impact from their best players." This comment about one of the teams contesting this Friday night’s game came earlier in the week from a so-called expert radio commentator by the name of Kane Cornes. He wasn’t referring to the Melbourne Football Club but rather, this week’s home side, Geelong. The Cats are purring along with 1 win and 2 defeats and a percentage of 126.2 (courtesy of a big win at GMHBA Stadium in Round 1 vs Fremantle) which is one win more than Melbourne and double the percentage so I guess that, in the case of the Demons, its not just alarm bells, but distress signals. But don’t rely on me. Listen to Cornes who said this week about Melbourne:- “They can’t run. If you can’t run at speed and get out of the contest then you’re in trouble.
