You get the impression that Chandler loves the Club and is loving being part of this team.

A DA member spoke with Kade this morning and asked him about staying with us. While he wouldn’t commit either way (of course), he did say that he loves the Club and all involved, and that’s to be expected. But he emphasised that he absolutely LOVES playing on the MCG, his favourite ground by far.

On a personal level I really, really hope he stays since I’m taking a jumper to the Demon Shop tomorrow to get #37 put on it. Don’t make me waste my time and money, Chin!!!!! (Said while wagging a finger.)

Andrew who? 🙄

Can be injected into the midfield where he can cause the opposition a lot of problems.  So he's not a one dimensional player

OMG Orion.  Reading your first three words made me think he was moving to Essendon 😱

Chandler isnt going anywhere, when he signed on knowing he would play in the VFL and have to fight for his spot, he isnt going to change clubs now he is in our best 22

Wonderful news, loved his comments. A joy to watch.

Welcome to the Dees Liam Henry.

Chandlermonium stocks rising might mean we won’t chase him after all.

Not since Farmer would I have been so heartbroken to lose a player. I would cry and never watch him play again for fear it would cause me too much heartache.

And Liam Jurrah too

Great for the club, relief for Kozzie now it is done, and he can put any anxiety (deecision making) behind him.

Got get 'em.

Woweee folks!  Gotta be happy with that eh.

Not every day you get a four year deal on one of the comp's best small forwards.

Jurrah was different. I feel sad for him that he wasted his life because he could have been an AFL great and a rich one at that. Kosi is destined to be a star. Thankfully not at another club!

Fremantle's development is puss.

I'd happily back Mark Williams to get the best out of him because the kid certainly has talent.

Him and Kozzie buzzing around the forward line would make defenders think twice.

I reckon we can fit him in somewhere..

I’m all for adding talent on the cheap. Especially if it’s taking said talent away from Freo 😂

And also, culturally appropriate to involve Aboriginal player's families in such discussions and processes (assuming that is ok with said player).

The importance of involving family when negotiation with Aboriginal players (again, with their permission) is reflected in this quote from Kossie:

“The club has embraced me and my family, and I can’t thank them enough for their support. Everything I do is to make my family proud and the respect and understanding my teammates and coaches have shown us means a lot."

We should help Hawthorn sort their [censored] of a club out

Brilliant news. Delighted he has committed to us. A very difficult player to replace if he had left as opposed to Jackson where we have replaced with a better player.

He has signed up early which makes me wonder if he was ever a serious chance to leave. It's hard to know these days with all the rumour generated by the media.

Anyways, it's put to bed now. Let's focus on a serious assault on this year's flag. I have a vision of Kozzy holding aloft the premiership trophy with the norm smith around his neck.

Go Dees

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

It seems like only yesterday that these two sides faced off against each other in the centre of the continent. It was when Melbourne was experiencing a rare period of success with five wins from its previous six matches including victories over both of last year’s grand finalists.  Well, it wasn’t yesterday but it was early last month and it remains etched clearly in the memory. The Saints were going through a slump and the predicted outcome of their encounter at TIO Traeger Park was a virtual no-brainer. A Melbourne victory and another step closer to a possible rise into finals contention. Something that was unthinkable after opening the season with five straight defeats.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.
