Could have happened 1 month ago and King might have been snagged. Damn. But 4 coaches in 1 season is not good for footy.. become a circus.

We're just catching up to other sports really, where you aren't afforded 2 years or more of stagnation or going backwards. Even 1 year might be enough to get the can.

Care factor = 0, such is the irrelevance of everything that is that club. Such a shame that a talent like King is being wasted at that club.

It's got me stuffed why teams pick up tried coaches? Ratten done nothing at the Blues gets a gig. Why? The inevitable happens and he gets the sack. Some teams are just clueless. Watch Carlton go down the [censored] shoot with Voss in charge. Brad.Scott was just an embarrassment. FAILED COACHES DONT WORK

Honestly...this is pathetic.

Their list isn't up to scratch & that's not Ratten's fault.

Scattergun recruiting, a lot of it under their new CEO...I think the blame lies elsewhere.

I feel for Ratten

The ‘one is enough Saints’ take yet another decisive step to ensure that they certainly won’t be contenders in 2023.

Their supporters are just about guaranteed to know what it’s going to feel like barracking for a football club that hasn’t won a flag in 57 years.  Something that not even we have had to experience. (Phew).

The corporate governance of most AFL clubs is an absolute joke. They bang on about culture and respect and then blindside the most important part of their culture, and get rid of players without warning (ask OMeara or Grundy how they feel). It’s rubbish.

Didn't the AFL require clubs to put in a clause for coaching contracts that there would only be a 6 month payout should they part ways? I believe it was for clubs that agreed to have the AFL bankroll them during the pandemic. Anyone recall this?

Would make it far easier for clubs to sack coaches

The Saints are so reactionary. We are 8-3 sign him up!!

oh we missed finals. Sack him!

Where us the list at? What you aiming for? It’s all irrelevant

Saints would have sacked Goody in 2020, Dimma in 2016 and Bomber in 2006

Did somebody say……

ROSS LYON???!!

No Dean Kent no Saints

It’s funny, when he was appointed I felt like they’d got an ‘almost’ coach.  Almost did well in finals, almost got into finals, almost had a good year, and that was after he was an almost coach previously.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
