Yeah, have to say it's a strange move from West Coast to begin with.

Free agent. Doesn’t cost them any draft or player collateral.  He’s got genuine Pace to attack or use defensively. Suits WA conditions. Band aid solution for them whilst they start to rebuild.

Yeah it's more like a proven stop gap solution to help them along in their rebuild even though it might not be long term.

In other words, you've got no idea of whether he did have a contract offer earlier in the year. What's your source?

If he's devastated with being pushed out, I doubt that it's true. And based on the compo pick we're likely to get, WCE aren't paying him huge dollars.

None of your business where I get my information from.  Just because you don’t like what you read, doesn’t make it untrue.  So jog on buddy because you are the only person who has no idea.

I mean if I had to guess I'd say he was offered a 1 year deal and West Coast are offering something like 3 similar to the Dean Kent situation? Just a guess.

Good pickup by West Coast but sad to see him go, was a great servant to the club.

Actually I asked about your source when you first said he was offered a contract and you never replied. So I to call BS and you can jog on. You would be better off to just fess up that you were mistaken.

Was he? Jon Ralph 'On the Couch' a few weeks ago stated that the club had put a two year deal in front of Jayden.

Well if that's what his source was just come out and say that.

or he can keep his source to himself and keep providing information.  He has some form from the past and gets some inside info. if you don't want to read it either ignore him or block him but others like me want to hear it

I totally agree, Layz. It’s always going to be about the club. And rightly so. I’m (almost) always v sad when a player leaves. I regard our players as like sons and I liken their departure from the club to them leaving home. Ordinarily it’s like when my (real) son left home and now lives in Footscray. But with Jayden it’s like when my other son - also real :) - left home and now lives in Warsaw. And no matter how many times this happens… 💔 It never gets any easier.

Hunt says, do widzenia i trzymaj się 😉

What do you expect him to say "I'm Jason Taylor's brother-in-law*"?  Just accept that @Demons11 has some solid info from an anonymous source.

* Likely to become accepted fact on DLand now, sorry  ....

Completely agree and I said to Mrs Dw; Smith better be available for 23 games next season because that is who has pushed Hunt out.

This was always going to be a difficult year considering who was out of contract and the fact we need to find 3 draft spots every year. I will need some convincing that Melksham and Hibberd will  perform at the required level all of next season. To my mind Bedford might of signed for 3 years if Melksham was retired. Essentially we are granting a player one more year at the expense of a player we offered 3 yrs to and who is still very young and raw. Is giving an ageing player one year worth the potential of developing a young player?

We have enough open list spots already. If we delist Melky and Hibberd we are replacing them with picks 50 and 70 on 2 year contracts. Keeping them on minimum 1 year contracts as depth allows them to be delisted this time next year while pick 50 and 70 doesn't allow this option.

Seeing as Lamb confirmed it I can now get the tissues out.

When I signed up here I had Frosty and Hunt listed as two of my fav players. Love watching a bit of dare and dash even though the output was a bit inconsistent.

We'll always have that Torp

At this time of year I am keen to hear any inside information even if it is from Bill’s cousin Jamila who overheard it at the supermarket so please keep posting those in the know and even those not in the know but are acquainted with Jamila.

Kocham Jayden 💕

@DeeZone This ⬆️ is Polish for ‘I love Jayden.’
And Lexinator’s comment translates to ‘Goodbye and hold on.’ 🥹

Ja też kocham Jayden 🥰 (I also love Jayden). Haha, Polish is a funny language, especially translating it, I was wanting it to be 'goodbye and take care' but 'hold on' has the same effect hehe. Hope Poland is treating your son well! 😊

Hunt and Frost were two of your fav players??

Whats your favourite stat? Clangers?

Watching the footy must have been an act masochism for you.

You would have loved the Neeld Era; we couldn’t hit a target…

And so forth…

They certainly are! In general, Poles LOVE Aussies. They think we’re exotic. Let’s let them believe it. 😁

I left a heap of Dees stuff there a couple of years ago - tea towels, beanies, scarves, posters etc. - for my son’s father-in-law who’s sports-mad and who’d given me similar but for Legia Warszawa, his soccer team. He gave some of the Dees stuff to kids in a tiny village and apparently they are now Demons fans, albeit without choice.
WCW promoting Aussie Rules in Poland. You’re welcome, Gil! Couldn’t be any more of a fail than the China thing, right? 🙃

I love it when Posters on here demand to know a Source.
I was told on August 20 that LJ was definitely going, but why say anything, it wasn’t worth the hassle.
i was also told LJ loves the Demons and has no bad blood at all.
Trading is now a part of the game. We must get a good deal coming back

and no i will not reveal my source under any circumstance

aha., Confirming I did not love the Neeld era.

It's hard to explain, my first love is the game of Football (soccer).

Guess they just reminded me of pacey wingers  taking on opposition players and marauding up the field. So I've got a soft spot for players who exhibit a bit of dash and dare. Find it entertaining

Also with Frosty you never knew what was coming so it was always exciting!

  • PREVIEW: Hawthorn

Hawthorn and Melbourne. Two teams with impressive form from last week but with seasons that are travelling on different trajectories meet in Saturday’s twilight game for what could well be the most intriguing contest of the AFL’s penultimate round. Sadly, the game has been relegated to that unappealing time slot in the weekend when Melburnians are typically preoccupied with activities other than football. It falls between the morning's shopping, afternoon sport and recreation, and Saturday night fever. A time usually reserved for relatively insignificant events but this one is not a nothingburger for either of the clubs or their fans.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
