It’s not rocket science, just attach a laser beam to the posts.

The Tigers will get over it, mind you that was not a 50 to Gary Buckenara.

I am just gutted both teams couldn't be eliminated.

It only requires a small cheap wifi camera on the top of each post pointing up with a wire directly over.   When the ball hits the side of the post, it is good enough to see if the rotation of the ball is affected.  I.e. simple and peanuts.

Everyone talking about the ump decision.  What about how crap that kick was from 5m out.

Back myself on that with my left.

Lynch should be more under the but microscope. Choked it big time

Gawn had his goal disallowed on the Grand Final last year and was adamant it was a goal. Fan footage from behind the goal appears to confirm that analysis. Yet the Ump called it a point and it wasn't even reviewed. Nor did the AFL discuss how to stop it happening in future.

It was a vital time in the game but in the end didn't matter. Nonetheless the AFL have now had two clear stuff ups.

FFS it cant be that hard. Lidar on top of the goal posts or hawk eye. Its not expensive tech.

They probably did review it but like last night they didn't have the camera angles or the technology to reverse it.

Had they had access to the fans view the it most certainly would have been called a goal but unfortunately there are no cameras situated behind the goals and on all angles.

This in the Herald Sun today:

Last year, the Demons pulverised a flu-ridden Geelong in the preliminary final,

Can you believe how much this cr*p gets repeated so that it is now fact. Believe that all you want Chris Scott

I read that an if it is true it's the clubs fault. Working overtime to get Covid out and you let the flu in.

A pity really, would have been even more fun if it was a goal, a la Wayne Harmes tap - #TigerTime

If that diagram was drawn using actual data, known positions of cameras etc, I'd have some faith in it. Looks like a cartoon to me attempting to prove a whatever the artist intended.

Anyway, Lynch must be very happy the attention is not on his crappy kick.

Given the predicament we find ourselves in I would prefer the filth to beat the Bacillary Angiomatosis because if they win and we somehow win next week they will be an easier opponent in the prelim than the Corio moggies.

I hate both of these teams.

We have a big whiff of straight sets I reckon. Rapidly losing interest in all other games as a result.

What's really sad is Melbourne supporters were ready to believe again last night - 78k a huge turnout. The disappointment on everyone's faces, cost of attending finals and our poor form at the G will likely restrict our attendance to 50k max next week.

Even after a premiership, our supporter base are incredibly fragile because we didn't get to see it in person.

Curtains I'm afraid.

See I want Geelong to win today because then at least Collingwood would have to maybe play Sydney in an away prelim if they get that far.

We get through Brisbane I'd love to knock the cats out of a prelim and get another crack at Sydney.

Anyway it will be interesting

I'm looking forward to tonight's game. It wouldn't bother me at all if freo win. But I'm thinking if Collingwood lose who could knock them out. dogs or dockers at the G. Then I'm thinking the dogs.

I hope the Cats and pies knock lumps out of each other and a close heart breaking loss for one of them, i don;t care which one

A win against Brisbane at the MCG next Friday and then a PF against the Pies is not a daunting prospect

Geelong are a better team than Collingwood but a win isn't guaranteed

If the Pies are within striking distance at 3/4 time they can win as they are a very good 4th quarter team.

MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti
