The backline will be interesting

There isnt much competition for the true FB, CHB. Its between May, Weitering &   Stewart  probably ends up taking one of the pockets and i think Maynard gets the other pocket.

I think Gus will be close to securing one of the HB roles, given his defensive form and recent time in the midfield, which ticks both boxes.

Trac and Oliver are 100% locks. Gawn will be likely (pairing up with Witts for the ruck combo). Having 5 players in the team will be a tough ask, given Geelong are unlikely to have that many.

Kicking 50 goal in a season probably had something to do with it...

Fair selections. You'd reckon Oliver, Trac, May and Max will get jackets.

Fritta and Brayshaw next season!

Lingers struggled the second half of the year and many here were calling on Kozzie to be dropped half way through the year!

Reckon Melksham, Spargo and Ben Brown are stiff (but only because I like to annoy people on Demonland).

surely ANB gets a nomination for the best spew of the season

I think May is actually a bit lucky.

Has Had an average 2nd half year compared to last year. He has been in most people's AA teams by default

Lingers stiff but the truth is he doesn’t handle a tag very well, maybe that’s why he missed

Only 2 rucks, and Gawn [censored] all over Witts.

Marching to his 6th AA

Delighted for Fritta. 50 goals - best medium forward in the AFL by a country mile.

Sam Taylor is a lock for one of the KPB positions. May should get the nod ahead of Weitering and Stewart for the other, and I'd imagine Stewart would get the BP position. Maynard should get the other BP position, and the half backs should go to Daniel Rioli and Sinclair.

Maynard May Stewart

Rioli Taylor Sinclair

He’s been a bit off his best but at the same time since he came back from his break he’s easily beaten Daniher twice and taken care of Walker, McKay, Hawkins and Naughton.

Unless I’ve forgotten someone the only key forward who’s really got away on him was Peter Wright early in the year

Playing half a season of ordinary football probably played a role too

Maynard May Stewart

Rioli Taylor Sinclair

I’d have Wilkie in a back pocket, such a great shut down defender. And I’d have Sicily over Taylor, just does so much more.

Stewart CHB, Maynard back flank. Rioli’s been great but only need 1 rebounding defender

6 AAs in 178 games. Has to be an all time record of games per AA

Jeez max could go 5 in a row!

He should go 6 in a row. Witt's has been pretty good but no where in the Max tier. I'd only go one ruckman. I get having 2 when Grundy and gawn where both playing at the same high level but no ruckman could claim to be at Max's level this year

No Maynard? I think he’s had a very very good year.

If Max gets his sixth jumper that puts him ( deservedly) into rarified company.

Max is so bloody good his "average" performances get underrated . Yet an "average" performance from Max is light years ahead of the best from almost any ruckman I can remember.

Plus he is an outstanding captain.

Absolute champion of the game

I think Sinclair has had a better year so much so that they had to put a tagger on him.

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit. Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?
