I'd rather Collingwood straight sets, then we beat Geelong in the GF.

Can’t see the tigers making the GF.

But tbh, I won’t be thinking past week one, beat the swan it’s, then relax for a week.

Tigers midfield is bog ordinary. They won't be able to compete against the top four teams, even if Dusty returns.

There'll be surprises though. Always are.

Freo the only bottom of the 8 teams that could give it a shake. Richmond aren't much chop.

Geelong will be found out

Dees to win it.

The only team that worries me in the finals is Collingwood, they have this enormous belief to win from anywhere. Carlton dominated the key stats even more so than we did when we played them and still lost, there's just something about the pies and I hate it.

Hopefully we don't have to play them but part of me wants them to beat Geelong so we don't play them in a prelim and if it does come to it, we roll them in the GF.

My thoughts exactly. Pies are riding the crest of a wave. Want to avoid them if at all possible

I'm too scared too look too far fwd so as not to jinx the team.

One-week-at-a-time😐

But I reckon we can do it!

I think it will be a Melbourne - Geelong grand final and we beat Geelong.

I think finals is a different game altogether. Collingwood play a very high risk game, which can go very wrong come finals. I also can't see Geelong losing to them week one, and once they lose week one they might feel really deflated and fall apart.
They have had every ounce of luck go their way for about 18 weeks now. Surely it can't last.

Freo and Melbourne have the best 'finals' game plan. Geelong is Geelong. Will anything change for them in finals this year, is yet to be discovered. Sydney have deficiencies, which were on display yesterday. Richmond have had a super soft draw leading into finals. They have all the experience but their best soldiers are on their last legs. Only a Dusty special can get them far.

Dogs are literally making up numbers. They will go out without a yelp, and I will laugh and laugh and laugh.

We have the number 1 defence in the competition based on Pts against

Other teams will be intimidated to meet Melbourne in a home final at the G

Agree with this . A large part of it is they have forwards who are great kicks for goal Elliot, ginnevan, Johnson, even Cox can be very accurate and mihocek. They also have very smart players who are great kicks in daicos X2 , Pendlebury, sidebottom, crisp ,degoey( -smart bit ) who move the ball beautifully. And Moore, Howe patrolling the back. Must dangerous team for mine

Yep and on top of the elite field kicking their players are extremely athletically gifted. McRae has really found the perfect gamestyle for their ability and it's scary when they get going.

Playing Collingwood in a semi is the stuff of nightmares.  I've only just come out of the fetal position from two weeks ago.

I’m not concerned by any team outside the top 4. Don’t think any of them will beat us at the G in finals. Top 4 is a different matter. Sydney looked average last night but if they click their best can be very good.
I think Geelong( well mainly Danger and Selwood) would benefit from a second week off in finals and don’t think they can win it if they lose to the pies in first game.

Dees to beat Sydney, Geelong and Pies in the GF.

y'all not suffering from mfcss?!??

i'm worried about EVERY other team in the 8

one of the most even seasons of all time; i reckon everyone in the 8 COULD win it, but cats are - deservedly - favourites

Not sure how we are favourites against Sydney.

Because look at the results this week and add in a home ground advantage.

My prediction:

My productivity at work will drop by at least 25% during September. Impossible to properly concentrate at work with a finals campaign to think about

  • GAMEDAY: Geelong

It's Game Day, and reinforcements are finally arriving for the Demons—but will it be too little, too late? They're heading down the freeway to face a Cats side returning home to their fortress after two straight losses, desperate to reignite their own season. Can the Demons breathe new life into their campaign, or will it slip even further from their grasp?

  • PREVIEW: Geelong

"It's officially time for some alarm bells. I'm concerned about the lack of impact from their best players." This comment about one of the teams contesting this Friday night’s game came earlier in the week from a so-called expert radio commentator by the name of Kane Cornes. He wasn’t referring to the Melbourne Football Club but rather, this week’s home side, Geelong. The Cats are purring along with 1 win and 2 defeats and a percentage of 126.2 (courtesy of a big win at GMHBA Stadium in Round 1 vs Fremantle) which is one win more than Melbourne and double the percentage so I guess that, in the case of the Demons, its not just alarm bells, but distress signals. But don’t rely on me. Listen to Cornes who said this week about Melbourne:- “They can’t run. If you can’t run at speed and get out of the contest then you’re in trouble.

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit.
Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

For a brief period of time in the early afternoon of yesterday, the Casey Demons occupied top place on the Smithy’s VFL table. This was only made possible by virtue of the fact that the team was the only one in this crazy competition to have played twice and it’s 1½ wins gave it an unassailable lead on the other 20 teams, some of who had yet to play a game.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

In my all-time nightmare game, the team is so ill-disciplined that it concedes its first two goals with the courtesy of not one, but two, fifty metre penalties while opening its own scoring with four behinds in a row and losing a talented youngster with good decision-making skills and a lethal left foot kick, subbed off in the first quarter with what looks like a bad knee injury.
