I was in AFL members so always hard to tell but my mum who was in MCC said it was probably 50:50. But the final seconds and final quarter you'd think the entire crowd was Melbourne.

I think much of the problem is that we're not a very loud supporter base. We were there last night and last week. We're just not big on big cheering. Finals should be different though.

Agree those last roars were scary loud snd Dees fans all jumped up on their toes !!!

Couldn't see a finals ticketing thread

Ticketing email from the club stating 10 tickets per membership. Can't remember it being like that in 2018, though it was another lifetime ago, so I'm probably mistaken.

Can anyone remind me: do we get the option of tickets in the trident area if our membership seating is there? If too many get 10 tickets that's a hell of a tight bay!

Exciting times!

You will not get a priority ability to select seats in trident/legends/redlegs areas.

But you will hopefully be able to select your bay - which may be where your reserved seats normally are, the below image is how the categories will be allocated and we will get around 75% of the bays.

In finals both teams get 50% of seats in theory but they will give us more like they gave us more against geelong in 2018.

That's the right attitude.  I've rustled up 8 Dees supporters to come along - go dees!

Good to see people walking the talk. One could say, my daughter when she was little was forced to follow the Dees (born into that religion sort of thing)

Much to my family’s shame she not only became a vegetarian later on in life but worse still, an AFL atheist.

However she has agreed to support the cause and will be coming with me to the G next Friday.  And she also knows all too well if she isn’t noisy enough at the right times, she will be pinched. GO DEES!

I certainly hope you are correct

Do you know why we would have got more of the allocation when we played Geelong ( who I am guessing would have had a fairly large membership base, perhaps bigger than us)

Secondly, sort of a comment and a question. I would dread getting a great seat and then rock up to the G and find myself surrounded by opposition supporters.  Is there a way to reduce the risk of this occurring?

In 2018 for the Geelong game we could get 2 tickets per membership barcode.   The story was they won't travel to the G/Marvel at night.

Given they have chosen their QF to be Sat afternoon there may be some truth in that story.

Amen to this!

It needs to be said - thank you!

Really irks me when other supporters at the game dont support, sit quietly, wtf. Supporters got to do their bit too.

I think it’s funny and important to make fun of yourself. I don’t have an issue with it. I have an issue with our fans coming to games to clap politely like they’re at a funeral or the theater.

I've never been to a funeral where people clap, politely or otherwise.

I did attend the funeral of a well-known golfer and, as they were lowering the coffin into the ground, had to resist the temptation to yell out "Get in the hole!".

I will be patting my knee rug tonight & very firmly - if wearing gloves.

Seriously though, anyone who lobs up tonight will get in somehow. Won't be raining. No excuses Dees fans.

Went to a couple of music gigs this week (classical - the polite clapping type), instinctively clapped then winced in pain having forgotten about my broken finger. Rookie mistake. Whistled instead - went down well. No clapping tonight. VOICE ONLY PEOPLE!

Too true, go absolutely bonkers. There's few times in life as an adult you can make a total nutjob of yourself and get away with it. This is everyone's chance.

So 80,000 plus tonight?

I am ready to make my missus ashamed of me tonight at the G' !!!! Go the Mighty Dees!!!

General public tickets almost a sell out.

Category 1 - N11, N31, N33

Category 7 - very back of Q1 to Q6

Q49-Q55 rows CC-MM never went on sale.

AFL reserve level 4 will be about 30% full.

Reckon 75-80 is a good bet,

Love it. We need plenty more supporters just like you.  If you are still of breeding age you have a job to do.  You know what to do.

Ticketek have just released a whole heap of areas up for purchase now so looks like it won't be as big as predicted. Hope we get a bunch of last minuters jumping on board.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
