No excuses next week,  just get there Demonland. I’d like to hear crowd predictions, if Carl v Haw can get 67k  earlier in the season, this game can get a crowd close to 80k.

We're Melbourne supporters. There's always an excuse. There's a thread dedicated to them all.

typically crowds tends to pick up towards the end of the year for finals conmtenders. 75k-80k definitely likely especially if Pies win this week. AFL members is pretty much already sold out. Same for vs Carlton in two weeks.

I’m coming back to Australia for the first time in 4 years . Last melb game I went to was the semi final win over the hawks. What’s the weather forecast like Friday? Tempted to go see the pies game. I’ve got a seat in the MCC for the blues but this week could be a cracker

80k+

You could be right at least 50k pies there!!!!!

I’m flying down with the wife next weekend for the Carlton game, already organised 4 guest passes, back to back massive crowds.

Be fantastic to have full house except for the fact that you may end up next to a Filth supporter....particularly in the AFL members.

I think we end up getting 75K which would be a fantastic effort.

The last time we played a home game against Collingwood that wasn't Queens Birthday was in 2019 and we got just 31,000.

anything over 70k is massive in the post-covid era

would love to see us top the 'modern' queen's birthday crowd, which is 83.5k in 2018

this year's big freeze total was 76k

above that? happy days

If rain it’ll be about 60K

no rain we could push 80K!

I’m sure we all remember the Filth booing Oliver when he got BOG against the Pies (40 odd possessions, great many contested) and that little piece of excrement Ginnivan, mouthing off at Gawn when he got injured, not to mention how all he seems to try and do is drop his knees and milk the free kicks.  Business end of the season now, bring it on.
Our lads said they looked forward to try and get the job done in front of big crowds this year and are fulfilling their end of the bargain. We have one job to do, turn up and make some bloody noise GO DEES!!

We owe it to the boys. Rain hail or shine, turn up.

Yes! We need as many Dees fans in attendance as possible. It’s gonna be quite the challenge to drown out their fans. But we can do it! We just need our fans to show up like never before.

Count me in! I'll be there after missing the last 4 weeks. My better half will be there too although she is not as loud as I am 😬

Exactly, get on board everyone! The slopes will still be there on the weekend, get to the G on Fri and let your inner demon out!

If you're planning on stocking up on footy snacks before going to the game or looking to buy some waterproofs or winter woollies, avoid the supermarket in Collingwood whatever you do.

This is what happened to me when I popped in earlier this morning.

I got reserved seats for this and the Carlton game the day they released them. So annoyed at myself for not buying a reserved members seat for the year (and GF guarantee). Didn’t know if I’d be in Melbourne all year with work, and how covid would impact.

Turns out I’ve been to almost every game in Melbourne, and paid $50 to reserve a seat at about 6 of them.

Agree, it’s OUR home game!  We really have no excuse.  We have been so proud of our growing membership numbers. We (I) bag out on teams like Collingwood, Carlton, Essendon etc.

But at the end of the day actions speak louder than words. Turn up and make some bloody noise.  I hate being out numbered and out noised at our home games.

You won't wanna miss this one.

Biggest Demons v Pies game since the 88 Semi Final.

2nd v 3rd. Friday night. Round 21. Should be a massive crowd. And we get to feed them some humble pie 😝

Wayward kicking for goal, dump kicks inside 50 and some baffling umpiring all contributed to the Dees not getting out to an an early lead that may have impacted the result. At the end of the day the Demons were just not good enough and let the Hawks run away with their first win against the Demons in 7 years.

  • NON-MFC: Round 09

Round 9 kicks off out west with the Dockers hosting a Collingwood side resting several stars. Fremantle need to make a statement on their home deck after some disappointing form on the road, while the Magpies will be keen to maintain their Top 2 position. Friday night sees a must-win clash between two sides desperate to stay in touch with the eight. St Kilda have shown glimpses while Carlton are clinging to relevance after a flat start to the season. Saturday’s twilight game at Marvel pits the Bombers against a struggling Sydney outfit. Essendon can’t afford another close match against a lower-ranked side, while the Swans risk sliding down the ladder even further. Up in Darwin, the fourth-placed Suns will look to extend their stay in the top four. The Bulldogs have hit their stride with three big wins on the trot and will be very keen to consolidate on their momentum. The always fiery Showdown looms as pivotal for both clubs. Adelaide are eyeing a spot in the Top 4 with a win, while Port Adelaide’s season could slip away if they drop another game and fall further behind the pack. Sunday begins with a yawn fest between Richmond and West Coast. The Tigers need to bank the points to stay clear of the bottom two, while the Eagles are still chasing their first win of the year. The Giants face one of the league’s toughest road trips as they travel to GMHBA Stadium to face the Cats. With GWS at risk of a third straight loss, Geelong will be eager to consolidate their position inside the eight and start their climb up the ladder. The round wraps up with the top-of-the-table Lions heading to Ninja Stadium to take on the second-last Roos. The Lions should easily take care of the struggling Roos who might be powerless against the best in the comp. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?
