Feel a bit sorry for Hunt & Dunstan

Even though l don’t agree with the Melksham decision he’s still a Demon & we should get off his back & support him

Milkshake.....really?

Wasn't he super lucky to get to play his 200 and pick up his 5 possies as per usual.

Sounds tough but this is the critical end folks.

He's served us well bit doesn't see a patch of his former self.

If opposition fans were to read these boards they’d likely be confused. “Wow. This is how they talk about one of their own?!” It’s disgraceful.

Hope Tomlinson puts in a better performance than his last start when Sam Reid of all people taught him an absolute footy lesson.

Sam Reid is a very good footballer...has been cruelled by injury.

One of the best swing men in the game when he can get on the ground.

What does this mean? Serious question. If your preceding sentences are anything to go by it must be disparaging. But what exactly does it mean?

edit: I just googled it. There’s five minutes of my life I’ll never get back.

All I can think of is Goody is trying to baffle the Port match committee with these selections just as much as us supporters

That being the case Im completely baffled🤯

Jump on bigfooty and check out every team boards team selection thread.

You'll be in for a huge rude culture shock.

This is nothing compared to others..

Both Max and Jacko played last week and it didn't help Brown though.

Yes, but just be nice to see what mainly Max forward, rather than mainly Jacko forward looks like

I am not thrilled with these selections but I trust the coaches. They’ve done a good job the last two season.

Melks selection is a joke

Does he have pics of the coach

Almost unbelievable

Makes me sick

Bedford and Spargo can count themselves very lucky.

I hope Jake cashes in on the lifeline he has received.

Would be good if you’re taking the port coaching reins this week then fence 😛

Dunstan must be regretting his decision to join us, and Chandler must be regretting staying with us. Form counts for nothing. The one saving grace is that Weid isn't in the side.

Will Melk and May run through the banner together as a sign of solidarity?

Melksham & May warm up will be 3 rounds of boxing??

Rivers and Tommo I get.

Melk’s selection confounds me   He looked well past it in the last couple of games he played

Has he been starring at Casey ?

Agree, Melksham has looked a mile off AFL standard this year! Would have picked Dunstable or Hunt well in front of him.

I’m talking about THIS forum. (I know I wouldn’t last five minutes on BigFooty and similar which is why I wouldn’t bother to even momentarily visit those sites.)
But I believe the standard of THIS forum is such that nastiness purely for the sake of nastiness doesn’t belong. Constructive criticism? Sure, bring it on. But straight-up insults, yeah nah.

Melksham has shown good form at French restaurants so why not the Alice??!

Oh, I understand boy humour. I understand all humour. But this [censored] isn’t humour. For in order for it to be classed as humour, it needs to be funny. Or clever. These comments are neither. Ergo… not humour. 😁

He was great 2 years ago

Much much faster than now and hungry as ever.

Seems to be totally different now

Love to be proved wrong and we see milk of old

Sparrow into the pure mid role and milkshake to HFF?

Rivers is a good addition to our side imo

Bill there are 2 issues here . One is expressing an opinion and questioning a selection based on form.
Supporting the player is another issue. He’s playing for Melbourne so I hope he proves me wrong and plays a blinder

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.
