Agree.

I watch Jordan get the ball a fair amount, go back look for options, ignore options, then wait and surprise surprise kick it long into forward pocket.

if he kicked it to Charlie 3-4 of his possessions, then we’d end up with 3-4 much better possessions going int o our forward 50!

Part of JJ is that he is not forceful enough about moving the ball and Spargs leads are probs oh so quiet he doesn't give enough sound or direction to the kicker. The Lachesis should be over all this and change it instantly.

selwood looked like a player retiring in the last quarter last night and he gets to go out on the highest high. he was a [censored] to play against and a massive sook but he was a world class leader and a tough combative warrior so fair play to him

He's a f!@g, and the thought that he may have played his last game makes me feel warm inside.

No more small forwards or small defenders for me

We have Hibbo Riv Salem Hunt Bowey D.Smith and Mcvee

We have Kozzzy Spargo ANB Bedford Chandler Laurie AMW

Currently oversubscribed in my view

I’d like to bring the ruck/forward option to replace LJ, plus another skilled speedy midfielder (like a Chad Warner type) to run and provide good entries into forward 50.

Our small forwards are ordinary apart from Kossie. We definitely could improve that part of our list.

Another winger would also be desirable.

It goes to show that you need strong leaders to win a premiership.

??? Pies linked to Mcstay, Tom Mitchell, Fiorini, Hill , Frampton ??? How do they pay for DEGOEY and still offer $$ to offer clubs players.  Surely most of the Grundy dump goes to pay for Mcstay.  (How much were the Brown brothers getting … assume it was fairly basic contracts).

Cap increases by about $600k next year. Pies have few players in their prime. Grundy money goes a long way.

So glad we can do them a favour.

Does the Hawthorn fallout include Karl Amon looking somewhere else other than Hawthorn?

He'd certainly be handy to pair with Langdon's run, Bowey and Salem's ball use.

Absolutely not worth the cost unless the Saints payed a massive portion of his salary - Could we get him for a 2nd round pick and 600k a year for 3 seasons? It's comparable to Amons salary offer, however the sticking point is the pick trade difference.

I'm still a fan of us taking on Jack Bowes contract, restructuring it and getting that pick 7 from GCS, and playing Gus/Jordan on the wing again.

Hill has looked shocking at the Saints, genuinely scared of contact

There have been those moments, but you can't just point to them and label the whole 2 seasons shocking. He's also looked fantastic at times, thrived at half forward and on the wing when their mids were actually winning it and using him. 21 disposal average and would be better utilised on an mcg wing with our structures and ball winners.

Hey mate. Has there been any word yet on next years salary cap? I haven't heard anything which is strange seeing there's a trade period coming up. Where did you hear $600k? Cheers.

Definate No  NO NOOOOOOO!

I suppose his foot skills wouldn't really fit in. Here I was thinking we need speed and good disposal added into our best 22. Apparently we just need grunt on the wing.

Edit: Just to reiterate, I'm in favour of getting jack bowes, pick 7 and 13 and keeping gus/Jordan on the wing. But as I said, if the club is so keen on Amon, why not Hill?

I’d like to keep that money set aside for a 5-year deal out for Zac Butters at end of 2023.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
