Indeed! Perhaps we'll be captured on social media!

I'm sure we would be fine ambassadors and role models.

Can't. Need to win, failure is not an option.

Nor is winning an option.
There’s never an option, in the true sense of the word.

That said, we really do need a win. Starting to forget what that feels like. 😑

Well there sort of is, players could strike. Extreme but it is an option.

Here is the offer of a lifetime Uncle, I will be pleased to manage all operations management of the Manor whilst you are away. I promise to keep the place in excellent order and not get stuck into your special reserves of refreshments! 🤩

Very decent of you picket, however, I must respectfully decline your generous offer.

( I have concerns that you may get stuck into things other than my refreshments)

Your mum’s opinion doesn’t count

Remember when the minor premiership was a poisoned chalice? That turned out ok.

What matters is that we can be there deep in September, and that we are in good enough shape to really challenge.

Cant wait for Thursday night. I expect to see a lot of you there!

Don't hold your breath.

Meaningless stat in isolation as they presented it, but it does show how hard it is to reverse form.

If we continue to lose, we'll be similar to Dees of 2004-2006 where we were top four for most of those seasons but had a period in the second half of the year where we capitulated and lost 4+ games in a row. We bowed out earlier than we should've those years, especially 2004 where we were top of the ladder heading into Round 18 but lost every game thereafter to finish fifth and lose an elimination final to eighth placed Bombers.

Let's hope the short bye break gave the players a chance to reset and we can get back on track. The talent is still out there even with injuries, just need to switch on mentally and bring the intensity.

Agree it is just another meaningless statistic, and by the sound of it but even properly researched.
How about no team that has  won only one flag after   for 57 years has ever won the next after being 10-0 then 10-3.  Does that actually mean anything?

We are a very different team and a very different club than 2004-2006 with an unrecognisable culture change.
Reset and advance.  GO DEES.

Will your opinion be the same if we lose on Thursday mono?

On Footy Classified they showed a statistic that no team has ever lost four games in a row during the season and won the premiership.  So if we lose on Thursday it's all over!

Glad I don't watch the sh$t show. Norf lost their first four in 1975.

One or both?

Language is ever evolving. What made sense in the past makes a different or no sense , now.  Although, as always, context is everything.

It is a fascinating subject.

I may need to start taking down some of the red and blue paraphernalia from the front of the house.

(Except, of course, for the Haymes painted heritage facade. That's permanent, until Council comes a-knockin'.)

If we lose, it'll be confirmation of just how hard it is to win back to back flags. Also, how much luck you need to do so - especially with injuries.

If we lose this week we run the risk of becoming a forgotten premiership winning team. It will be spoken of and remembered fondly by Dees fans, but ultimately it was done in Perth and it won’t mean as much.

I can see a very real possibility of us losing this week and finishing outside the 4, I’m not trying to be pessimistic here but three weeks in a row we’ve had good leads that have evaporated to nothing. We’ve had a dysfunctional forward line for most of the year, these are issues that have not shown any signs of being rectified. On current form you have to tip the Lions for this week and it’s on the coaching staff and players to dig themselves out of this funk.

We can do it, I felt similarly late last season and the GWS loss ended up being the tonic the team needed.

… I’ll cry.

After a hard-fought first half in slippery conditions, the Dees came out in the second half and showcased their trademark superior class, piling on four goals in the third termand never looked back.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
