June 8, 20223 yr Infection after 3 days from hitting a bloke in the mouth and getting a penetrating injury from the teeth. Absolutely possible and serious if that's what happened. Edited June 8, 20223 yr by frankie_d clarification
June 8, 20223 yr Did May have a mark on him in that video he did apologising? Melk probably missed and punched the wall, stuffing up his hand
June 8, 20223 yr I'd say this sounds like a plotline from Dumb and Dumber, but I have the feeling that there is more to play out here and that we'll be crowning someone Dumbest of all the Dumb Dumbs by the end of the week.

Surely if one choses to punch and injures your hand it is not the fault of the guy who is hit.
June 8, 20223 yr poor form by them both and I just wish Melksham showed the same intensity when tackling 🙂

Feel for the other punters in the restaurant no one should have to be around that behaviour when eating out. Seriously thuggish behaviour all around by adults who should know better. Melksham has small kids at home and here he is drinking and punching a teammate on a Sunday night. Not only a team mate, but one getting over concussion, from a previous hit to the head. Actually assaulted someone for a verbal barb. Pretty great all round. I think Jake might have played his last AFL game for us, considering his last two games and on top of this incident.

Absolutely possible and serious if that's what happened. Infection can set in rapidly. For a Demons example, I saw Rod Grinter at a party the night he clocked Terry Wallace. His hand was infected & had already swelled up like a soccer ball. It caused Grinter to miss the following week (while Wallace played)

June 8, 20223 yr What May said is brutal but in my view not something a reasonably well adjusted adult and father should consider punchworthy. Particularly when that somebody is supposedly a close mate. Bizarre and I suspect more to it than just that sledge. Hope I am wrong and for now will assume I am.

Worse that these are 30 year old supposed leaders, not teenagers!

I don't know what you think May said, but in Gawn's press conference he said that the Grand Final comment in the media was not true.
June 8, 20223 yr Would have been more believable if the club just said that Melksham is unavailable for selection this week as he has monkeypox

Take that back, irrelvant now Max has said that quote about the GF was all nonsense.

Me too... though at the same time still remember the season he had in 2018 where he became one of our most important and reliable players. Fell off a cliff after that though or maybe the evolution of our game plan meant there was no longer a role for him.

But i also take on face value that they've both manned up, admitted they've made major mistakes and have buried the hatchet. If you've read Max's diary from last year he spent quite a time describing the way the whole club has tried to lift the way they talk to eachother. With more respect and less denigration. He says its still not perfect but it's a lot better, and he referenced that in the press conference today. The whole club has matured, a lot, this is a setback no doubt, but also a teaching moment. Let's see what they do with it... Edited June 8, 20223 yr by Dee*ceiving
