At this rate, he'll choose the Tigers

Imagine being stuck on the list at a football club that has just scapegoated and sacked your father for not magically transforming a full cliff-dive rebuild into an instant return to contenders?

That would be vintage Richmond, I must say.

Fun fact: between Tom Hafey and Damien Hardwick, a Richmond coach (not including caretakers) was more likely to coach less than 50 games than more than 50 games.

7 below 50 games, 5 over 50, and just two (Tony Jewell and Danny Frawley) cracked 100.

Deserves a rookie list spot. His year has been tremendous compared to last year.

Big final snd the kid boots 7 straight.

Once you've nominated once already for father/son, not been selected, can you be eligible again the following year? 7 goals in a final would be worth a rookie or even a late pick selection just to see what happens. Couldn't do any worse than Woewodin or Brown.

Yep. i'd take him as a rookie, if not as a late pick in the main draft.

Rookie spot is beckoning. Good game sense and he. can. kick. straight.

Anyone know the rule? It would be awesome to see white and yze at the dees.

One to watch.

Hopefully better than Woewoedin, Kynan Brown… hope they’re delisted.

Just get him squirreled away Melbourne.. just do it.

Google AI says yes can renominate.

Only ineligible once placed on another AFL list.

Definitely worth a look. Get in the gym Noah

Tom Wallis

Jake long

Josh clayton

Tom Fields

All examples of F/S nominated a second time after not being taken. Tom Fields ended up at Carlton though after not being taken by sydney as the eligible club

If he's anything like his old man it won't matter.

He looked pretty strong already. I thought that was one of his pros. Just from watching this game my impression is he's powerfully built, plays smart and is a great kick. He took contested pack marks and got out on the lead. Kicked running goals as well as set shots.

My concern would be with his height. He played more like a KPF today, but he's too small for that role at AFL level. I don't see the athletic traits to play mid, although he is listed as a wing on his draft profile.

All that being said, he's clearly a very smart footballer, and Jake Melksham has reminded us how much value a smart mid-sized forward can be. Maybe he builds into that role?

I dont think he has the smarts/skill of his old man so compensate with a bigger, stronger body.

He can be pre listed as a Category A rookie, or taken as a father son rookie, if not taken in the main draft.

What a dribble post. Woey is looking better by the week ant pup has given much needed desperation when he has come in.

I have been a massive Goodwin supporter but that is over now. He won us a premiership and maybe didn't give the kids a go he needed too.

Noah Yze was exciting today and you would have to think he will come to Melbourne but we have overlooked him twice.

He kicked 7 goals but the greatest moment was when he nailed Woey with a picture perfect pass. You can't script tha

He plays next year you can bet you house on it it.

I’ll happily be proven wrong, but until now, they both under perform, apply no pressure and lack polish and skill. They wouldn’t be getting game time at other clubs, and do because of their name.

I hope they come good, because how good would that be for them and us.

Totally agree. Plays smart and team first. Very popular and hard at it.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
