The greatest, most fairest, most skillful, most modest,  most courageous footballer I have ever seen.  How he would be so happy now with our Demons on top.  We miss you Robbie.

Indeed.

Given the onfield impact he had in what were very poor teams (for the majority of his career), imagine the damage he would be capable of in our current team 🍆

Langdon on one wing and Flower on the other .... Wow wee man.

Martin Flanagan wrote a beautiful piece on R. Flower many years ago in I think The Age: does anyone have the skills to find it and post it - a very poetic essay indeed!

Flanagan also gave a nice little monologue on SEN just before the 2018 prelim

I am still hopeful the MCC will erect a statue in tribute to Robbie Flower.

I think it would be a wonderful way to have a significant legacy for one of the greatest Melbourne Demons players ever.

30 seconds of my life wasted. You don't need to post every time u have a fantasy about a former champion.

To think we would have the luxury of seeing Robbie playing in his natural position. .. Wow wee indeed!

So how do you justify your negative responses?

I for one will never tire of supporters respecting a true champion.

Let's hope that we can all continue to lobby the MCC to have a statue put up of Robbie Flower.

If enough of us continue to push tgis suggestion then hopefully it will happen sooner rather than later.

Here is a great highlights video of all the amazing feats done by champion Melbourne Demons player Robbie Flower.

He was the reason to go to the footy !!

Sensational player and person.

I think if he played today he would play more a Salem type role

Tingay and Langdon would have the wings

He could be full forward next week with Brown out.

He can play anywhere.

I ha ha’d at that but Brayshaw could probably give the full forward role a fair shake

If Shane Warne can have a Grand Stand named after him at the MCG... the Robbie Flower wing should be a permanent fixture at the G!

What I would have given to see Tulip play live, seen so much footage and the man seemed to flat on air. Brought his best for the State games and was so widely respected in this league.

  • PREVIEW: Fremantle

The dominant storyline coming out of Round One for Saturday Night’s clash at Optus Stadium centres on the influence of the big men. The spotlight naturally falls on two elite ruckmen who, five years ago, shared the stage in Melbourne’s memorable premiership triumph.

  • NON-MFC: Round 02

The compromised AFL fixture will get another test this week with the first lot of teams getting a bye after only two matches. Despite this Round 2 starts off with two cracking games as the Hawks host the Swans at the G on Thursday Night and then on Friday Night the Crows host the Bulldogs at Adelaide Oval. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • THE STATS FILES: St. Kilda

As part of the effort to trim the runtime of the regular podcast, we’ve been looking at which segments could be reshaped without losing what makes them valuable. One segment that naturally came into focus was Binman’s Stats Files. Not because it isn’t important; quite the opposite. It’s become such a substantial and much-loved part of the show that it deserves a little room to breathe.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.

  • POSTGAME: St. Kilda

Never in doubt!!! In Steven King’s first game at the helm of the Melbourne Football Club, the Dees outlasted Saints in a wild, momentum-swinging thriller at the MCG, running out 13-point winners.
