It's difficult when you are at the match, yoiu only see some bits.

6/ Brayshaw

5/ Oliver

4/ Langdon

3/ Jackson

2/   now it gets difficult

2/ Harmes

1/ perhaps ANB   for the last quarter  i thought he played well

but so did Rivers Sparrow Bowey  Spargo Kossy  Weide Max Viney Tracca   et al

The 1 votes - no, no,no,  way.  Kossy was not in the best 10 players on the day. Maybe he needs a forced "rest" Spargo - average Bowser - yes, played a great game. Very reliable.

Saw it at the ground and just watched the replay to confirm my thoughts.

6. Oliver - his ability to move at speed from contest to contest is remarkable

5. Brayshaw - this move to half back could be a masterstroke.  The Bombers showed him too little respect.

4. Langdon - the running man.  He was everywhere.

3. Gawn - his best game of the season and his third quarter in particular was leadership personified.

2. Bowey - this guy is just so composed you are almost surprised if he makes an error.

1. Weidemann - He marked almost everything and was our only forward of any effect for the bulk of the game.

Interesting that when Stringer went forward they tried to isolate him in the square with Brayshaw his opponent. He kicked two goals.

6 Clayton Oliver   A warrior   Definitely a 3-vote game

5 Angus Brayshaw   Seemingly everywhere and linked up creativity all night

4 Ed Langdon  runs and runs and gets footy and runs

3 Max Gawn   Battled on around the ground to drive the ball forward

2 Joel Smith   Defensive efforts were important at key moments

1 Sam Weeeeideman   Better attack on marking and kicked crucial goals

apologies to May and Bowey who were solid all night

I was at the game and just sobered up.

The first three were stand outs and you could argue about the order

Oliver

Bradshaw

Langdon ( this bloke must have a motor hidden in his jocks)

After that there's a few deserving

Jackson

Weid

Bowey

There was a lot of ****ty football and errors.

Does that make you twice as silly or only half as silly WCW?

Hey! Don’t make light of a potential alcohol problem!

BTW Uncle, you should deign to come and sit down amongst us plebs some time. Only once, let’s not get crazy here. You can see how the other half live. And you’ll learn a bunch. For instance, did you know we’ve all been mispronouncing ‘Essendon’ all these years? Yep, seems the first ‘n’ is silent.

To wit…

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
