Well to Carlton’s credit they have played much better than us. Want it more. Great tackling

Backline embarrassingly bad.

This new crackdown is such BS. You have to be able to express annoyance once it’s not at the ump. Trac just yelled at the sky. The AFL can be so embarrassing and amateur sometimes.

How did the umpire know Trac wasn’t angry at himself.

Constantly negative? Have a read of this thread.
He is an MFC champ. Show him some respect and don’t question whether he is with us or against us.

My favourite number is 3 for a reason but I will call out his [censored] negativity when I want to. It's not a one off.

All he has to do is pump up the other team instead. He has been better since we kicked 5 in a row.

Jesus Harmes really is a wannabe be Dusty isn't he?

[censored] tatts, [censored] haircut and and unlike Dusty a pretty average footballer.

Carlton player expressed disgust at the decision for the push in the back against Viney. No 50. Not sure why.

Not wearing red and blue. Yep, gonna be us versus everybody else this year.

One of our best tonight, and one of the few whose effort has been somewhere near acceptable levels.

Let it go, let it go.

For those without tv access.

This has been "one of those games" when every bounce of the ball favored the other side, and early season fumbles abounded.

Carltons new midfield looks improved and quite fast compared to us, but that always appears the case when you have first possession.

Not sure this is a result to worry about too much.

Think this one is against Peanut McDonald and not Tracc.

He kicked 4 in the VFL today in half a game.

I’m aware of that CBD.

In the corresponding game last year.

Lol no way?!

8 50 meter penalties probably the difference.

That and 80% of the team playing at 20% of max effort for most of the game.

  • REPORT: Essendon

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
