I think everyone saw that one coming. 0 need to risk one of our most important players in round 2, especially given the mounting injury toll to our backline and having lost Salem for a third of the year.
Rivers is a good replacement for Salem from a like for like opponent matchup perspective so at least that’s something.

Here is a previously unreleased image of Jake Lever sustaining his plantar fascia injury.

Hope to see you back out there next week, Rick!

You are responding to a 10 day old post.

So one of the ‘bros’ from the Deebrief podcast is saying that he is hearing whispers that Lever’s injury is much worse than reported.

Take of that blah blah blah.

I just came on here to post that I'd heard the same thing from someone who has a relatively good connection to the club.

But also why would you risk Lever or Hibbo in a round 3 game against a side that don’t have much of a forwardline either.

I thought we were past playing cute little games with our injured players, but Petty, Lever and Hibberd are now all well outside the timeframes initially provided for their returns.

If Lever's injury is really that bad, just let us know and we'll move on.

Why do we need to know?

BECAUSE!!!

Emotion Reaction GIF

They are showing Hibbo and Lever one week, Petty 2 - 3 weeks and Salo 5 - 7 weeks and Turner 4 - 5. So could be closer than we thought.!!

Injury List

Kade Chandler

Quad | Test

Jake Lever

Foot | 1-2 weeks

Michael Hibberd

Calf | 2-4 weeks

Harry Petty

Calf | 2-3 Weeks

Daniel Turner

Foot | 4-6 Weeks

Christian Salem

Knee | 5-7 Weeks

Don't like the sound of Lever's foot. Wouldn't be surprised if it turns out to be a 10-12 week injury.

I’m slightly concerned about the handling of our injuries compared to last yr.
Salem came back to early, Riv looked proppy on the weekend and some of the current injuries Hibbo, Petty times keep getting pushed out.

Is the Salem injury related to his pre-season one? Or is it a completely new and unrelated problem?

6 players, 5 defenders, 4 premiership players

Despite this our defence seems to be hanging in there.  Says a lot about depth.

Sounds like Lever is still at least 2 weeks away as well:

“Jake is still experiencing a bit of swelling and pain in his foot. We thought he might be playing as early as this week, but that won’t be the case. It looks like he’ll need at least need another week, which is disappointing, but we don’t want to risk anything there.”

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
