Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I've sometimes thought Goody is slow to make changes but it turns out he just has faith in the lads. As for putting Jackson in the middle it was an inspired change. Love the way this bloke manages the ball at ground level.( actually Max ain't to bad crumbling this year either). Another high draft pick who has shown why he was rated. Moves so fast for a 200cm plus 100 kg player. His celebration of other teammates success says a lot about him too.

How good is a football team when a player like Clarry feels like another player on his team is carrying him?!

And how good is a football team when a bloke kicks six goals in a grannie yet doesn’t get the Norm Smith?!

As he wheels away from kicking that goal, Oliver's eyes are wide open but he is not looking at anything temporal. In these Shadowlands of ours, he is beholding perfection itself. And as for the kick itself, it seems to slow down as it approaches the goals and clears the head of the goal umpire - as if the Big Fella himself wanted to savour the glory of the moment.

We will never see their like again. Never.

We were all getting a bit anxious when Bont kicked that goal to put them 19 points up, I took the dog out the back for toilet break, I heard a roar and when I got back inside Fritta had kicked out sixth. My grandson (7yo) said grandad take Bella outside again which I did and bang Fritta kicked our 7th, I laughingly said I am going back outside and BBB kicked our 8th. We all laughed and I didn’t go outside again.!!!

DZ, do us all a solid and load Bella up with tonnes of water just  prior to every match of ours next season! 😁

I wanted to crack a bottle of Champagne after Clarry’s goal in the 3rd. We didn’t need it, but it was Glorious

The knife pierced The Bulldog Heart with that one.
i didn’t crack the Champagne, but i did pour another strong Gin & Tonic

Did Footscray touch the ball in the last Quarter?

i don’t remember if they did

The knife to the heart was BBB's goal in the final quarter within the first minute or so.

While we had blown them away so easily in the 3rd, the message Beveridge would have had for the team at 3/4 time would have been 'we are only 4 goals down..., we overcame that deficit in the second...., we can do it again".

But the ease at which that first goal was scored, would have just deflated any enthusiasm that they might have hoped to regain.  After that it was a one-way procession.

and that is what he said in his presser;  it wasn't that the Dees had the momentum but that the Dogs let it continue in the last.  He let slip something there... whatever was said at 3 quarter time it wasn't believed

Now that I've seen that 3 in a minute is a very real possibility I don't think I can ever be truly comfortable at a football match ever again. 🤪

One thing's for sure.
After the entire football world seeing the vulgar display of power the opposition will be terrified of a Melbourne comeback till the siren blows.
We'll live rent free in their heads.

The last three goals of the quarter still amaze me and I must have watched them over fifty times.

Dees of old would so often concede a goal in the last minute of many quarters.

From the dogs perspective with the ball moving into our fwd line, dogs fans must have been thinking we need to hold on and not give up a goal.

But nobody thought of giving up three and especially the way it happened.

Truly spectacular in any game but more so in a granny.

I wonder how many people went to get a beer or take a toilet break.

I reckon if I was at the ground, I would have snuck off to get a beer before others.

I'm pretty sure those goals just crushed the dogs spirits as four goals is not insurmountable. But we scored at will in the last.

I was dancing everywhere after those goals and I was sure the flag was ours.

Was everyone else convinced?

I must say l left my sitting room not long after the 3rd quarter started. Couldn’t stand the tension. But l couldn’t resist a sneak at the 16 min mark. Wow what a thrill. Indeed many thrills. Such glory which l still even today have not recovered from. The Dees have a magic model which will sustain us for much of this next decade.

My dad ( who died in 2000 after fanatical support for the Dees all his life, which he passed on to his sons), and maintained all his adult life managed to convert his crew in the Middle East in his Wellington bomber to be Dees supporters in 1943, just before they were shot down and  two of them became POWs in Germany (sadly the other 5 died). He said as a POW, his Demon scarf was his most prized possession!

He would be over the moon with this win just as we used to be as kids with him in the Grey Smith stand. I only wish he was here to enjoy it with us. I am sure l am not alone.

Yes, we should all acknowledge Sparrow’s elite kicking in this. This guy is going to be a star into our long term future!

There were 15 seconds left after Clarry scored. Plenty of time to kick a fourth goal. Trac won the final clearance but couldn't quite get clear to deliver inside 50

Pretty ordinary effort by the Tracktor I thought. Lots for him to work on in the next 102 dayz. I'd have him in my best 22 at this stage for the first round in 2022, but he wouldn't want to get complacent.

Wow, I must be the only ‘doubting Thomas’ around here. I was nowhere near relaxed at any of the above-mentioned points. I wasn’t even believing we were a cert to win after ANB’s goal which put us up by 42 points. It wasn’t until the next goal (Langers) that I entertained the thought that this could be it… that we can win this. Oh man, I still get excited just thinking about it.

For research purposes I felt compelled to watch "that ten minutes" again.

Thirty seconds left ... little one from Viney ... SURELY NOT ANOTHER ONE ... handball to Oliver ... STREAMING THROUGH ... BANG!

BANG BANG BANG!!!

More than "bang bang bang", I love that comment "surely not another one" ... the incredulity of the commentators at what is unfolding in front of them ... and it's Melbourne doing it!

I still laugh out loud every time.

GO DEMONS!!!

I think the 3aw comments were after Sparrows was ...."whose to say they cant get another one".

He he.

I know I'm bias but its interesting that after such a long drought for what was a super prestigious and successful club. It came to an end in the way it did. The most memorable gf for a long time. Not just for Dees fans.

Goodys 3/4 time message was simple - Bang it forward no matter what. No science involved.

Trac did just that

ANB calmly threaded the needle after that and Sparrow's huge kick (not for him though) did the rest.

But Trac won that first contest and follwed the coaches instruction.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
