Does anyone know what time the team is announced? I am expecting Hunt or Hibbo to replace Smith and am just as keen to see Geelong's changes

In five mins 👍🏻

Really surprised Geelong didn't bring in an extra midfield for Parfitt, but instead have stayed with Zac Guthrie who's a half back flanker.

Parfitt is Geelongs best defensive mid. They've left the bollocking work to a Selwood and a banged up Dangerfield.

Works in our favour.

No change to cats line up. Which looks funny because psrfitt is out.

Zach Guthrie was medi sub last week. In the starting line-up tgis week

Hard luck for Smith. I think Hibberd is the right call as the closest like-for-like replacement for Smith.

Jones the sub?

Their true team is Z Guthrie in, Parfitt out.

It's hard to believe Guthrie is ahead of Narkle, who can't even get on the emergency list, but there you go.

Don't think Jonesy will be sub, and fox footy have been saying he will fly home if he isn't.

In practice yes.

But the medi sub counts as a player. Hence no change

Very happy with both teams.  Ours is the better one!

No Hunt even as emergency. Would assume he was not quite right.

No Hunt. C'mon Hibberd find your early season form and you will stay in the team.

Really surprised by Zach Guthrie who a mate of mine has suggested (Jeelong) that if he plays ut plays right inro our hands!! I DEFINATELY would have played Hunt over Hibberd easily and I hope this doesnt end in tragedy! Hunt not even on extended bench???? Dont like it one bit. JONES to be medical sub take  it to the bank!

What a huge tick for young Bowey.

I'm wrapped for him.  Hug tick also for Choco in bringing him on.

His beautiful disposal will be rocketing out of half back, centimetre perfect to Fritsch.

MFC Website still saying Hunt is 2-3 weeks

Hibberd is an upgrade offensively and with decision making. Not defensively, but we should be able to cover him.

He also looks to get us going when we fall back into boring footy. Not as much as Hunt but it’s valuable.

Ultimately, this will be decided by the best 12 players on ground.

Yes I know, I just think of it practically.

Someone tomorrow will be named as their medi-sub and theoretically that player is the "in" to replace Parfitt, but really it's Guthrie in, Parfitt out, and someone else to medi-sub.

Well the team is as expected so the only mystery may be the sub. It will probably be Jordan but I would not be surprised if it was Melksham. Has a reasonable record over there.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.

  • POSTGAME: North Melbourne

The Demons are finally back at the MCG and finally back on the winners list as they continually chipped away at a spirited Kangaroos side eventually breaking their backs and opening the floodgates to run out winners by 6 goals.
