I'm still dirty on Guthrie for giving it to Max when he missed a goal after the siren to win the match in Round 1, 2018

Sweet Revenge for Max 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Wasn’t he the bloke who had the ball in his hand with 34 seconds to go?? What a choke

that narrow ground in Geelong can get to you though 😂😂

My WhatsApp group of friends who bailed out on me at half time last night feel like absolute idiots this morning. 🤣

Last quarter is on Fox Footy right now. There's still something beautiful about something just being on tv and not on demand haha

Refrained from posting on any of the threads during the game, because I knew it was all negative. So, I just want to say this:

Every poster on this site loves the Club. It’s an unconditional love. It’s hard at times, because it’s been torture at times. There have been some highs, but a lot of heartbreak. We have been the office jokes. The [censored] takes. We have endured the sneers. We’ve copped a lot of crap. However, 57 years of hurt and ridicule just got put to bed. There is a still a job to do. However, as Tracc said post game, “this is for the Melbourne supporters who have been embarrassed to wear the logo”. If that doesn’t send a tingle down your spine, I don’t know that you are human.

Its the proudest moment in my lifetime as a supporter. I am full of hope of what we can achieve in this finals series. We can trust this group. We can be proud of this group. They love the Club like we love the Club.

It is indeed a Grand Old Flag

Yep, on replay I took particular note of that Hawkins celebration with Smith. They've never been a humble team, Geelong. Delicious.

What a day to be alive!!

Doing some brewing out in the car-hole at the moment.

Might go for a ride with the better half at lunchtime (not a euphemism, I mean on bicycles).

Trim the hedges this arvo (also not a euphemism).

And then back on the beers and watch the replay a couple more times.

Enjoy your day KK.

Make sure you use protection

*you know a helmet. Googles for the trimming

Same Issac Smith that turned us down last year to head down to that [censored]

F**k him.

hahahahaha....you are right mate, he was the one sooking for the gus 'no intent to keep the ball in free', then he kicked it out on the full...bloody brilliant, thanks Dubdee, you have made my day for pointing that out 😂😂

It’s one thing to come back from 44 points down in hostile territory. It’s another to do it against one of the better and more experienced sides in the competition with a goal after the siren to win the minor premiership. But nothing, absolutely nothing, beats the sweet sweet delicious salty tears of Chris Scott. Beating those arrogant scumbags is just the best.

As most have stated, the greatest win I can recall in my 46 year lifetime. We had the balance our way for the first 3 quarters aside from the 20 minute patch of clearance-goal-repeat. The difference in the last was the aggressive ball movement, inside 50 pressure and we took our chances. That and the fact that the ageing cats could not keep up. Probably the most impressive part of that win is at 44 points down it would have been easy to put the cue in the rack and preserve for an away qualifier against Port. However this group truly mean it when they say they hate losing and want to be the best at all times. The impact of that win from a resilience, belief and bonding cannot be understated with anything thrown at us in the next 4 weeks. Well played number 13, number 11,  number 8. Reset. 2021 season 2 starts now.

I thought the 50 m penalty was rough but kinda made up for the two shocking insufficient intents on May and Gus.

The same was paid vs Melksham last week. It’s always been a 50, and with no crowd to throw the ball back they are more likely to pay it. Has always been time wasting.

What about the deliberate call against May in the first quarter which resulted in a Geelong goal?

A half-volley bounces off his chest and they said it was deliberate.

Not to mention the two or three goals they got from marks that were paid after the ball travelled all of 8 or 9 metres

I might even watch the Footy show this morning. I’ll prepare myself to be disappointed by these bunch of fools in the meantime

Good morning demons fans & what a beautiful morning it is!!!

I wonder how Maxy slept last night just going over that wonderful goal.

Paddy Dangerfield had zero possessions in the last quarter. Lol

Whoever was on Dangerfield in the final quarter well done. I did notice he was on the bench a bit but to keep him to 0 possessions is a huge win for us.

BOY OH BOY WOWEEEE

What a win, I'm still buzzing so hard. That win above all others this season has convinced me that we are the real deal and have the cojones required to win the ultimate prize.

The heart and fight the lads showed after being 45 points down was absolutely breath taking and if they can do that against the next best side in the comp, they can do anything.

I reckon he cramped up, probably did too much in the first half😁

  • REPORT: Port Adelaide

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.
