Spargo is one of the few players who has composer and a football brain when the forward line was more open that's when he shines.

I agree Spargo has great use if the ball but he just hasnt been getting it of late.

I would not mind him having time in the middle but hes in a slump

If the game ends up being played in Darwin, I wonder whether that will force the FD to consider some rotations for freshness in with the Perth game the following week.

Good question TU. I think we need them this week.

When and where are we playing ffs? I need to plan my weekend.

I think we need to challenge a few players and mix it up. It's time for a new game style, or try something to get a few ideas.

I know it's crazy and won't happen, but I'd rest Gawn and Tracc!!!!!

I'd play Salem in the midfield and Brayshaw back. I'd like to get a look at Declase on a wing.

The main reasoning behind resting Tracc and Gawn is to hand over the leadership to some of the others and tell them they need to step up. Salem should be a leader out there but constantly just runs around getting cheap kicks. He gets very comfortable and goes under the radar. Get him in the midfield mix or at least on a wing and into the game more. Get him connecting forward.

Gawn played like he was an island against the dogs, constantly almost giving up on connecting with his midfield and grabbing the ball and lolly popping it forward. And I think a lot of players wait for Tracc to win the game, without trying to win it themselves.

We'd probably lose and I'd look silly but thats my fix.

Actually by posting this post I'm already looking silly. But think of this. We have been injury free and have not had to bring in fringe players and develop them within team structures. Is this a bad thing or a good thing? In our case I'm not sure.

This the sort of thinking which suggests you'd be a good coach. Please apply for the Collingwood job. I'd be happy for them to have you as their coach.

If we end up playing the Suns in NT, and then go over to Perth, will we do so without TMac and Lever?

Changes they should make: choose their own adventure

Changes they will make: One (Harmes out for Sparrow or Melksham). Or None

Why would we do that?

What's the go with them?

With Victoria out of lockdown, I'd be livid if key players pulled out of must win games.

Let's hope they do the right thing by their teammates and employers.

They may prefer to do the right thing by their families. Personally, I wouldn't blame them.

Apologies, simplistic question; the AFL website says the game will be in VIC and there doesn't seem to be a game at Marvel on Saturday - so shouldn't it be there?

Have I missed something, other than my marbles?

Goody in his press conference said they're pretty much playing at Metricon on Saturday.

Awesome! From watching his game on VFL he's been an absolute stand out.

I'm thinking Rivers will be dropped.

Surely Hibbo instead

With Bowey coming in, are my prayers of Salem into the middle or HFF going to be answered….?? ??

Out(In): Harmes (Melk), Hibbo (AVB), Brayshaw (the-class), Rivers (Bowey)

Move: Viney to swap with Pickett

I hope those numbers are temperatures and not cases of Covid in the community in northern NSW

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
