Sounds like a backup for Lever.

Love your work dazzle. Always appreciated.

He'll certainly make a strong contribution for Casey. Will take him a few weeks to adjust to the tempo but he's a proven hard worker and quick learner as well.

Really stoked for him.

Who?  can someone post some details as I don't have a tweetery account....like height, weight and how tall..

192cm, 79kg and ummm, 192cm

Yeah, but how tall is his height??

and how tall is he lying down....(on my second bottle)

Turner family, welcome to the Dees.

No doubt you will eventually read Demonland. Please excuse us for being a mouthy and critical lot. We mean well even if it doesn't seem that way.

I can only imagine your pride at having a son drafted to an AFL club. Soak it up, enjoy the moment and encourage your boy to embrace the "team first" ethic that has put us on top of the ladder.

Go Dees.

If that music is the soundtrack to his game, then the opposition are in deep [censored].

All jokes aside, he looks like he has the Jeremy mcgovern chesty build

And/or someone to develop into and replace Hibbard when he finally hangs up the boots.  Not wishing retirement on Hibbo anytime soon, but it's got to be a possibility sometime in the next 1 - 3 years.

Was killing it for Albury

If you ever want to get 'killed' in Albury there is a pizza shop in Dean St, if you go at 1.00am you are assured of a punch in the face and you get your name in the local paper.  Apparently they are queued up out the front....

Looking at the very small video sample, he does not look anywhere near Hibbos maneuverability. He looks very much a large body defender.

Still think if we are looking to a replacement for Hibbo, we should throw next years first round at Colonwood for Maynard. He can take the medium and bigs. Did not see the agility in the Turner video to do that. He is a big unit.

192cm 79kg.  But I saw him before lockdown and he's much heavier than that

Most of us put weight on due to lockdown.

Key defender at 192cm & 79kg’s is a stretch.

Maybe he becomes a third tall in the Tomlinson mould, albeit 2cm shorter

Or half back flanker, Tomlinson and Petty aren’t going anywhere soon.!!

Scroll back to the start of this thread and read the first post which details both Turner's height and how tall he is.

I see three lines and none of the links worked for me.  So in those three lines can you point out where it states his age, height, weight and how old he is?

Would you believe, in a first,  I got more info off the MFC site, than here.  And what is curious the links worked....

Hes absolutely nothing like Hibberd.

Hes more Jeremy McGovern/Tom Barrass.

Sounds like some promising bits of business by the club.

Awesome news, welcome to the club Kye and Daniel.

I was thinking the same thing with Daniel dead ringer to Mcgoverns build.

And hair apparently, although that hasn't happened to me.

I'm sure he will slim down when he gets in to the system, he seems to be able to read the play and gets where the ball is.

He's 192 cm of age.

He'll need to be to come into a new zonal defence and learn how we want to play. I've thought this is the toughest thing about bringing in someone mid season. How do they adjust to the system the team is playing? Will be fascinating to see how he goes at Casey.

Thanks as always for the insights mate.

Gee, he even moves a bit like Lever from that footage.

No way Maynard is worth a first. A second should get it done if there's genuine interest.

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.

Mars is not usually a place known for lighting strikes but on Friday evening it happened twice in the vicinity of the stadium in Ballarat that carries the name and is a half completed building site with limited capacity for spectators.
