Well its Nine Zip.

Hard fo fathom as well as the fact that last time we were this good we won....do I dare say it...f....

I cant finish it. Its beyond comprehension.

As annoying as Bt was commentating , he was interviewing Dees supporters about their fears and new confidence. It was great to see some older supporters talk about the wait.

Ive never seen Dland so happy. Sure theres the usual backhanded comment or doubting of someones footy iq or rediculous changes but on the whole at nine zero we are a happy bunch.

So many likes and loves you can tell we are on an upward path.

Long may it continue.

Ill say it...a flag? Take that Bt.

my spleen is enlarged - i haven't been able to vent it for some time.

That' the problem with omitting Jake Melksham.

I'm really looking forward to the next three weeks. Get over Adelaide then back to back against the other two form teams of the competition.

Bring it on.

Who knew how fun it was to follow a genuinely good team

I don't think I've ever been this into footy

What a wonderful resource we have in Demonland!

I've been a Life Member ever since membership categories were introduced, and each season I try to toss in a few extra bucks to say thanks to Andy and the crew, who contribute their time, energy and 'hard-earned' to provide an outstanding service for us long suffering Demons fans.

Given that I'm in such a good frame of mind about 9 zip, I hereby pledge to make an additional donation if we make it to 10 zip.

ps I hope this post isn't out of line Andy / Mods.  If it is, please delete.  My donation will be forthcoming regardless.

Can honestly say I've never been so relaxed watching us play.
Trusting the game plan and commitment of the players to get it done.
But come finals time I'll be a forkin' mental case.

Dunno about anyone else but i fill full of apprehension watching us play I can't bear to see us loose a game just thinking about how we will respond the following week, I almost want it over with?. At the same time I'm loving it and hoping we go undefeated all season including finals......

Same here. Such a weird feeling not stressing over what could go wrong.

I think we should lose to Adelaide so we can have a 100 page whinge thread.

Demonland is awesome! My only regret is that I only learned of its existence four weeks ago. I really, really could’ve done with it last year. In early March a three-week visit to Warsaw blew out to seven months thanks to covid. All I had was a 6-min highlights video on YouTube after each match, which I only watched if we’d won. The first (and only) match I watched in it’s entirety was the grannie, and that was on Day 11 of hotel quarantine in Adelaide. Oh, how I could’ve done with Demonland last year. ❤️?

Yea so this is what footys like to so many.

The 90s and early 2000s where fun to watch , getting the same feeling with this group

Even Got my boy back to us after he followed all his mates who are tigers, now its Melbourne are awesome instead of that the suck and me stopping myself from putting my first through a wall

Life's awesome

When (if) we do lose a game:

If we lose to a bottom team - Drinking bathwater.

If we lose to a top team - Not ready for the pressure of big games.

If we lose to a middle team - Never as good as our wins made us look and really the middle is where we belong.

Similar commentary will align with it being a big loss, small loss or middle loss.

The only realistic option is to not lose again.  Ever.

The last 2 weeks are the calmest I think I’ve ever been watching Melbourne play. I just had faith we would get on top and get the job done, and even if we didn’t, it wouldn’t be the end of the world.

I’m usually an absolute nut case when I watch Melbourne. It has bought out the best and worst of me at times over the years.

When we win a grand final, be it this year or next, the whole demonland community should meet to celebrate!

Joking. Not joking

They can be as arrogant and drunk as they come. So long as they’re Dees fanatics, they’re fine by me. ❤️??

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.

The Demons have the Bye next week but then are on the road once again when they come up against the Gold Coast Suns on the Gold Coast in what could be a last ditch effort to salvage their season. Who comes in and who comes out?

The Demons simply did not take their opportunities when they presented themselves and ultimately when down by 25 points effectively ending their finals chances. Goal kicking practice during the Bye?
