Again, close thread.

I've figured it out. There's an in-joke that I'm not part of to always just say drop Melksham irrespective of how he plays or how the game plays out.

That's the only explanation for it.

We’d play better without him, wether that is a joke or not?

Probably no change but I’d be interested to hear what others thought of Brayshaw’s game. For the record, I thought he was plumb ordinary

No change unless soreness/injury requires it.

I'm not usually a fan of the old 'managed' games, but a fair few blokes looked sore during or after that one. Will be interesting to see if we manage a few now that we're near mid-season.

Thought Brayshaw & Fritter both had their worst ever games tonight. That's 2 poor games in a row for Brayshaw.

Sparrow for Harmes.

I'm sorry, but apart from 2-3 good moments in that game, Harmes was doing everything we shouldn't be doing. He just plays like old Melbourne.

Seriously?

Petty was poor but IMO should hold his spot to work on his connection with the others in the backline.

Brayshaw's positioning was excellent but his disposal poor. Wouldn't drop him, though.

Melksham was significantly better this week than last week. Not the week to be calling for his head if you don't like him.

Harmes' fourth quarter was important so I'd keep him but I'm far from convinced.

So all of that said, may be no change.

I can't have that !!  Harmes was a genuine contributor and provided more to the team than Brayshaw did tonight.

Of course he got found out a couple of times but in his first senior game in 7 weeks he did enough to retain his spot.

Yes, from going head down and bowling Nibbler over who had a clear run at the ball, to trying to feint his way through 3 sydney players instead of releasing a handball over the top to a running on goal Pickett, to Running 40 metres with the ball without bouncing instead of releasing when he had the first handball option he plays a contested, selfish brand.

I will never doubt his commitment, passion or contested ability but he plays the wrong way for us at the moment. Sparrow would match his endurance and defensive efforts just fine in my eyes.

I can’t agree with that. Harmes had a fantastic game

Brayshaw is a winger who is their to be an outlet. Harmes maybe could do the role, but is it really worth experimenting with?

Fantastic? I'm not saying he was the worse player just the most replaceable considering we have used Sparrow and Viney will be available soon.

It's like people saying drop Brayshaw. Who are we bringing in to play as a winger? Baker was awful against North and just middling along at Casey.

Please don't play Petracca if he has a corky.  We need him cherry ripe for tougher games coming up.

I thought Harmes was excellent and I thought Brayshaw beat his opponent. However, there are a few very tired looking players who could do with the rest, IMO. Not dropped, just rested for a week.

Yes he was frustrating.

Harmesy wins the footy runs strongly BUT turnovers and not picking the right options. Hope he just views the packages and gets the feedback to make the right first time options.

We thought this also and said some decison making looked like the bad old days for sure.

Sparrow in.

"Fantastic" is overcooking it, but I don't think he'll be dropped.

Spot on. And look i'm not against Harmes playing again next week (not my decision) and i will support when in the team. I hope he evolves, but he really didn't do anything the Sparrow couldn't have done tonight + Sparrow was better for Casey than Harmes was and was stiff to miss.

His first half was very good...go re-watch if you missed it. Sorry if you think I am overcooking it...I thought he was very good - hope that opinion is ok with you
