Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Riley Thilthorpe looks a real player. 5 snags on debut. Very strong in the marking contest.

And Koschitzke has 5 for the hawks.

I hate to complain about anything when we are 6-0 but we might be the only team left soon without a young exciting key forward capable of kicking a big bag.  The way the games changing I dont want to be left behind the 8 ball.

If people want to include Luke Jackson then ok we have one even though he hasnt kicked a bag yet.

Don't fret too much P2J, I recon Weid will turn it on at senior level at some point soon given the chance.  Still plenty of years left in Tommy Mac and BBB hopefully too for us to find a KPF when the right oppertunity arrises.

In the mean time, I think it's still a good thing that we have been able to find multiple avenues to goal and spread the scoring around without a dominant KPF.  We are stitting on 2nd position and so must be doing something right up forward.

BTW, I also I do like the appeal of having a KPF.  We have had so many hits and misses and potential super starrs in this area over the years.  Lyon, Bennett, Jackovich, Pike, Cuthberson, Schwartz, Neitz, Robinson?, Cook, Clarke, Hogan, T Mac.

Seriously the worst jumper clash ive ever seen....what is wrong with the afl? Blind and dumb !!

Agreed. Yet we’re forced to wear the disco jumper against some teams when there is no clash.

That was an entertaining game in Launceston played by two pretty awful teams. How nice it is to be able to say that.

Amazing they let such lower placed sides play on big occasions such as today.......charity really.

I wonder what they will dream up for us this year when we play Footscray since both teams will now likely play finals as well....

Recent equality laws introduced now mean that they can both self identify as quality teams and your words considered to be hate speech.

The AFL's clash jumper policy is a disgraceful farce.

We're required to wear our clash jumper in an apparent "clash" with Collingwood, but Essendon (bear in mind they are the away team today) is permitted to wear a predominantly black jumper against Collingwood's predominantly black jumper.

It happens all the time: Carlton, Richmond and Essendon are permitted to wear their home jumpers against each other and Collingwood despite all of them clashing.

The rules should be transparent and all 18 clubs should be required to follow them.

There's an epidemic of throwing in the game. Sidebottoms throw just now was blatant.

I was really impressed with the umpiring in our Geelong game, where they must have called a record number of free kicks for throws against both sides. I had thought the AFL was onto it. Maybe not.

The Dogs won a flag in 2016 throwing it out from tackles. Geelong's succeeded for years doing the same thing.

Exactly. I have no problem with a clash strip. I actually like our current clash strip. The AFL needs to have a strict policy that applies to all teams.

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n
