Gawn - surprisingly didn’t dominate

McDonald - a consistent target

Oliver - prolific, sometimes wasteful

Langdon - seemingly without passion

May - thank God 1

Lever - thank God 2

Petracca - skills slightly off

Harmes - plenty of grunt

Jordan - impressive first half

Brayshaw - needed the run

Spargo - some important touches

Tomlinson - steady and reliable

Salem - excellent first half

Fritsch - only some cameos

Sparrow - was rarely sighted

Jones - played his part

Neal-Bullen - just a game

Pickett - always looked dangerous

Jackson - will be better

Rivers - was rarely noticed

Hunt - was rarely noticed

Jetta - some important interceptions

This confuses me. Langdon played well. Ran hard all day. Is a lone wingman out there but provided good linkage and tackled well. Not the most dazzling performance of his career, but certainly a good game.

Not bad. My thoughts:

Gawn - Couldn't impose self

McDonald - Sporadic yet reliable

Oliver - Quantity not quality

Langdon - Had some presence

May - God among boys

Lever - Back to best

Petracca - Wasteful beyond first

Harmes - In and out

Jordan - Rising star nom

Brayshaw - did he play?

Spargo - Demonlands most underrated

Tomlinson - Club best game

Salem - Too easily beaten

Fritsch - Flash in pan

Sparrow - Not his day

Jones - Closer to milestone

Neal-Bullen - just a game

Pickett - Cyril Rioli like

Jackson - Present yet wasteful

Rivers - Has some flashes

Hunt - Not quite there

Jetta - Played solid role

Rivers: many costly mistakes

I would say this..after a really promising debut season.

Rivers - 2nd year blues

I hope he can shake them

Ha, i was tempted to say that. But it’s just one game. Let’s hope it doesn’t turn out to be the dreaded second year blues.

I’d prefer if he played the team role rather than racking up the stats.

I'm comfortable with your analysis of every player apart from the above.

This guy is the Energiser bunny - runs hard all day.

Yeah, I was shocked that his disposal efficiency was 80%. I wouldn't have had him in my top 10 on the field.

I actually thought Brayshaw was ok. He laid some big tackles in the last qtr (including one on Fyfe) and did some nice composed kicks that led to scoring opportunities. He’ll be even better next week.

Oliver was BOG for mine.

Jetta was oustanding.

Brayshaw did a lot of important hard things, and pinpoint passes

So glad Tomo has been recognised.

Definately the best game his played for the club.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
