Nice mini comeback where we started surging and just chaosballing it forward. ANB's hard running paid off by getting to the right spots. I still struggle to see this as a forward structure that can kick winning scores though.

Backline brilliant, May and Lever holding everything together. Not the biggest Tomlinson fan but he's having a go.ย

ย

I know we're running a second rate midfield but our missed tackles and lack of manning up is disappointing.

I reckon our forward entries have improved and Jones is playing really well as a half forward.

Lever and May (and the dogs kicking) have kept us in it.

Would be great to steal this game.

Really loving ANB game. His work rate is first class.

Not my favourite Demon, but played a great first half and making me eat my words.

Long to gawn.... very predictable. We have been doing this for far too long. It might work out in a praccy but never will in a real game

We are a team so heavily reliant on winning clearances, that when we are missing 3 of our best clearance players, it really shows. We are chasing tail which is understandable. Also Salem missing from Half Back has resulted in a lot of terrible ball movement from the backline. Basically we are doing ok considering who we are playing and what we are playing.ย

With Tom our only key forward, why is he never up there leading out to the ball carrier? Fritsch is one out against 3 every time.

Expecting a big year from ANB

Just struggled to break out last 2 years, lack of consistent game time

James Jordon is so far ready for senior footy. Drops a simple mark then gives away a silly free kick.ย

Hasn't impressed at all.

He's rubbish. Sorry

Watching at the ground yoy can really see how much running he does and how much distance he covers. Super important with 30 min qs and 75 rotationsย

Bacline playing well. Midfield too depleted. Forwards I won't mention but they are trying. We badly need Oliver, Brayshaw and Viney playing.

ANB forward and mid has been exceptional and May and Lever have kept us in it. We have gotten better as bothย quarters progressย which is a good sign. Forward structure very much a work in progress. You wouldnโ€™t be trembling if you were a dockers backman. I would play LJ ruck and Gawn forward for a lot of the second half.ย ย

Tmac, 3 disposals, 1 of those a turn over resulting in a goal (and a 2nd almost the same). ย Bloke is still cooked.

Poor Lockhart.

MMM radio making it sound like he has ruptured testicles or something like thatย

Nice push by the fatย spud in Josh Bruce

The umpire had good vision of that! That is a perfect example of why that rule was created, push the guy forwardย when he is in the air so you can take the mark. Unbelievable miss. Yet umpires will pay in the back if you fall onto someone who is already on the ground!ย

The best thing to happen in season 2021 so far is the return of normal length quarters. They are really helping us!

How many guaranteed best 22 players do we have out?ย
ย

oliver, brown, Weideman, Salem, Kozzy, Hibberd, Brayshaw, Viney, Melksham

thats 9 that I can countย

I've been really disappointed in our younger players. None of them look up to it unfortunately. Who picks these blokes ?

Spargo would struggle to get a kick at vfl

Yep

But a good hit out for the rest,ย  and pleasingly competitive

Let's see them maintain 4 qrts

Considering we have 3 of our top four midsย out and ourย main big two targets injured , itโ€™s not a bad effort by a team trying out some kids against the best midfield in the comp

Has made a few blues, but he is yet to debut at AFL level and he is improving as the game goes on.

He is also up against arguablyย the best midfield in the AFL.

Simpleton comment. ย

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecastโ€”20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze โ€” expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kateโ€™s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwoodโ€™s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isnโ€™t a standard conceptโ€”itโ€™s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasnโ€™t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's ย six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his teamโ€™s unfulfilled potential rang true โ€ฆ well, almost.ย
