The first 2 picks have been part of our plan. Tall forwards with smalls to deliver to talls and crumb. Hopefully our missing links.

Definitely picked for outside smarts and skill but the problem is they both will struggle to be physically ready to have an impact next year. 67kgs is one of the lightest picks I can recall.

We traded our 2021 first for this bloke so hope his worth it

Looks like Oskar Baker’s baby brother.
Good luck young fella.

I mean we literally traded it for the pick after this bloke too so might want to mention that

Can't believe the absolute negativity on this site, jake was an absolute star in the nab 2019 future stars game before GF, everyone on here is so negative about anything the MFC do.

Very good player. Extremely clean and a great, quick decision maker. He's small but still tough and an excellent kick.

Played wing, mostly, last year but could easily play as a small forward with his quickness and ability to create goals.

Everyone said that about spargo when he was drafted... look how he turned out

Nobody ever said Spargo was quick.

No. Well, I did some work there years ago, but effectively no.

175 cm and 67 kilos....  hope he is a LOT faster than Spargo

From the videos I’ve watched on him tonight he appears to have a penetrating kick. Spargo is yet to pass the 15m kick test at Vickick

I dont like it but if it makes Spargo lift to AFL level or get dumped, all the better.

I joke about the depth in his kick but Spargo improved last year. He is a link player, not a goal kicker. In his best games his score involvements were in the top couple of players on the ground. His issue is consistency but I think that will come with games. Some hamstring curls won’t do any harm either. I hold hope for Charles.

thats the big wait and see really, is pick 21 this year a better player that 14-18 next year. i'm not sure. small forwards can be found outside the first round but fingers crossed he comes good and can have an impact. big year for baker, ANB, bedford, chandler, spargs in the smalls department

lol you lot. Did you not see our ball use this year? We were ****house!!! We get one of the best users in the draft. What else do you people want?! We need footy smarts all over the ground. We've got too many dumb kents like Viney and Brayshaw that have a crack but their decision making is trash. A good pick and we could go with more types like him. Oh, we did with our next pick too. Surprise surprise.

Haha yep definitely a major issue that needs a fix, hopefull this goes a long way towards it!

If only they had a few extra cms and kgs, but footy IQ is a must

Spargs will look quick in tandem with these new recruits plus Kossie. No one will or should be stationery on our forward line in 2021 otherwise they will be on the bench and not going back on fir a whole!

Not sure  about Tommy Mac yet but we will wait and see!!

Yes legs might be a worry but neither looked timid or slow in the highlights so I think we have broker a couple of goers who will find their feet early on.

They look as though they both have some smarts yo add to our mix.

The ‘dunking’ on Spargo in this thread is a tad unseemly. It’s also a self-own as Charlie will play more of a role in the team in 2021 than this kid...

  • NON-MFC: Round 07

Round 7 gets underway in iconic fashion with the traditional ANZAC Day blockbuster. The high-flying Magpies will be looking to solidify their spot atop the ladder, while the Bombers are desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top eight. Later that evening, Fremantle will be out to redeem themselves after a disappointing loss to the Demons, facing a hungry Adelaide side with eyes firmly set on breaking into the top four. Saturday serves up a triple-header of footy action. The Lions will be looking to consolidate their Top 2 spot as they head to Marvel Stadium to clash with the Saints. Over in Adelaide, Port Adelaide will be strong favourites at home against a struggling North Melbourne. The day wraps up with a fiery encounter in Canberra, where the Giants and Bulldogs renew their bitter rivalry. Sunday’s schedule kicks off with the Suns aiming to bounce back from their shock defeat to Richmond, taking on the out of form Swans. Then the Blues will be out to claim a major scalp when they battle the Cats at the MCG. The round finishes with a less-than-thrilling affair between Hawthorn and West Coast at Marvel. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.

The Dees are back at the MCG on Thursday for the annual blockbuster ANZAC Eve game against the Tigers. Can the Demons win back to back games for the first time since Rounds 17 & 18 last season? Who comes in and who goes out?
