Due to where he sits in the pecking order at Melbourne, there will always be a perception that Brayshaw is gettable and it wouldn't surprise me if he's inquired about quite often.

True however if we have another consistently bad season next season it wont only be Oliver and Brayshaw looking to get out and i wouldnt blame them.

It wouldnt suprise me if other teams are already in their ears and preparing to get them next season.

If we have a good season this may change things and thats why season 21 is critical to the MFC.

Well, Kane is just plane wrong there. Indicative draft order from AFL website still has Cats holding 13, 15 and 20. That may well blow out on draft night with Academy bids but as there are no more free agency compensation picks being handed out so the order of the picks won't change until then.

Wonder if that sparks interest in Tom.

Sydney Swans are just the team to get Oscar moving You Don't play  in their 22 If you don't play your role and play their system. If they can make first year players play their system why not take a chance on already proven players who IMO would improve A half agsin with JL coaching!!!

Might even get Tom going !
Josh give them a ring for the Future 2nd rounder fir both!!

If it meant getting both off our list (given we no longer seem to want them), then a token 4th rounder would do it for me, opening up some cap space (whoever is responsible for the cap needs to go, how can we have it so tight yet not even be finals worthy?)

The hype level of the trade period is reaching a crescendo as the penultimate day of business nears a close. After days of back and forth meetings and handwringing Carlton and Essendon have agreed to a deal for Adam Saad and it was an Adrian Dodoro supersonic special that saw - Saad, pick 48 and 78 to Blues in exchange for picks 8 and 87. For the moment, the Bombers have picks 6, 7 and 8 but, in a dramatic moment of karma, the Bulldogs have demanded two of these picks for Josh Dunkley - otherwise there’s no deal. What a pity the trade period wasn’t designed to end at around Xmas/Boxing Day!

The Cats got involved but the impasse over Jeremy Cameron wasn’t part of it. They offloaded Lachlan Fogarty and pick 38 to Carlton for picks 30 and 51 and flicked Nakia Cockatoo to Brisbane for a future 3rd round selection. They then moved pick 30 on to the Kangaroos for Shaun Higgins. The overall effect of these moves pushed the average age of their list into the stratosphere and it ain’t over yet.

Meanwhile, Port Adelaide Power struck a deal for versatile Swan Aliir Aliir in exchange for a future second-round pick.

And in a very late in the day deal, Sydney receives Tom Hickey, picks 34 and 60 in return for picks 58, 62 and a future second-round and future third-round pick.

There are lots of balls still in the air and a few new names came up for discussion (including a “Chip” Frawley” comeback at the Saints) which leaves us with a really exciting day ahead tomorrow.

Apparently, the AFL’s idea of adding to the drama of the final day of trading is that while clubs can still agree on deals, they can only lodge them between 3.00pm and 7.30pm.

How exciting?

The no lodging deals thing is rubbish.

How many deals get held up or missed because instead of lodging at 10am they have to wait til 3pm so leave it open.

As long as they’re postmarked on the day of trade period they should be accepted. Count every lodgement!

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
