Family are big Demon fans too.

I am aware that doesn’t matter anymore - just a good story if it happens.

What about tmac and future 2nd  or 3rd rounder for Treloar and Philips. We pay Treloar inflated wage, they pay Tmac's inflated wage

How would we fit Brown in then?

Surely our attention turns to getting this bloke now with Smith choosing Cats?

Just walk in to a meeting with him, and tell him he can have the left wing at the G.

Get it done!

Some have suggested that offloading tmac is more about having room in the cap for a bunch of re-signings next year, including Mr C Oliver, rather than fitting Brown in.

Also, the Brown contract might be back loaded, though that seems out of favour these days, tmac being evidence where a struggling player gets big money late in their deal

Not sure about that...

Besides the obvious need for Phillips on the wing who ive been saying for a while would be a great addition, his brother Will is touted as a top 10 pick this year who from all reports is an absolute gun and future club captain. I know we’re nowhere near that sort of range at the moment, but from what others have said we could certainly package up some players and picks to send to GWS to get into that spot. I’d be getting brother Tom on board regardless, but the potential of getting his brother either this years draft or when he comes out of contract could be a massive bonus. From Cal Twomeys write up he’s a goal kicking mid who looks to be able play with real breakaway speed.

Tom's brother Ed is at St Kilda. They don't have another brother... they have a sister.

Those highlights weren't that impressive. Kicks seemed to float and didn't see much hard running to present an option.

Get the sister in !!!

Assuming Brown is secured I would be turning all my attention to Tom Phillips, including picking brother Ed up from the Saints on the way through who’s is OOC.  If not and we can clear some space with Tmac any half decent offer for Polec should be next port of call.

Narkle also interests me as a worthily OOC option as well as any potential way to get Jack Sinclair out of the saints. More run and outside polish is needed once we land the big fella.

I wouldn't go for Ed personally.

Aside from Brown, would you not prefer Jordan Clark over all of those. I would. He has pace as well, probably more than the rest.
I would go hard for him and look at the others as secondary.

No. Philips proven ability to gut run the wing consistently at quality and gettability does it for me. What would it take to get the contracted Clark out of Geelong? He is contracted and would not be costing them much yet. If he was good enough he would have got a game over others this year so he no sure thing in my eyes. They will need some quality young players when the aged care plan #getdangeraflag fails. I am looking for us to get role players we need at a suitable value for worth.

On comparing the 2, while Phillips would be easier to get, Clark is a better kick and 4.5 years younger. If Tom Mac joins Preuss at GWS, we could get involved in the Cameron deal and maybe get Clark from the Cats. I think they were prepared to let him go home to WA, so on the way there he could play 10 years with us first.
I am not against getting Phillips, just would love to get Clark.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.
