Yeah, nah. Me thinks not, Gus, Jack, James, Clayton & Christian are pretty tight and why would you want to split them up???

Keep losing, wasting everyones time and all our guns will leave. The past two years are enough losing.

If we have so many guns why do we keep losing?
Surely some of the responsibilty goes on them.

My guess or opinion is that our output this year was very good from our Guns Aand B graders ie top 10/12 in the B andF zBUT our last 6/8 in the team did not provide the depth and support we expected and needed.

I class Hannan Harmes Jetta AVB ANB Smith and Oscar in this category.

Hunt Has a level he can go to like the lady game Baker When tried was a pleasant surprise and other than his disposal on some occasions was a little ragged  plus Spargo put together 2 great games vs Woods and Giants Where he hit the scoreboard but was not so prominent in a couple of the othersBut Charlie generally can be defensive but we need much more than that consistently. He had developed and 2031 should see that even further.

Thats why we should be looking at 3 of Ben Brown or Joe Daniher or Jarrod Polec Or AdamSaad or Will Brodie or Peter  Wright ( if Pruess goes).

Our depth is a myth except for Sparrow as we don't know how Jordan  or Bedford Will be fir to lack of opportunity,

All players have room for development and the Assistant  Coaches need to be Replaced to give fresh ideas and break down Goody's  stubborn approach to players and roles within the team and to have major input in our Game Plan for 2012 and beyond.

Brayshaw has much more upside than Polec.

My brother an avid Nth supporter, says Polec is good but slowing down and losing his speed and run.

If we did this trade we would regret it.

Oh well, that settles that. Your brother, the Kangas fan says he is slowing. Interesting, has he seen him live this year. Maybe we would, that can happen, remeber Brayshaw is one head know from being finished.

How so?

Why would you trade for a guy who has similar career stats but is three years older and has been to three clubs? No upside in swapping the two. Is Polec a leader? No is he a match winner? No Is he a team player? From all accounts No... Statistical comparison of the two in the link below, based over a career so far it’s even pegging. Even if you compared on this season and Brayshaw hasn’t been at his best and they are neck and neck - It’s Brayshaw everyday of the week for mine, you’d only consider Polec if you didn’t have to give up much. A swap of players doesn’t make any sense. Brayshaw has a higher ceiling and is 3 years younger.

Thats why I said consider?  Brayshaw is one head knock from being finished and unlikely to play for another 5-6 years the way he plays.

Nice to see you're giving Spargo plenty of time

I would not handle losing Oliver at all, really hope this is all just conjecture and Mcclure trying to stay relevant. Tracc talked about Oliver and himself stepping up into the more mature leader type role. Can't see any credibility in this story at all and Mcclure should get an absolute serve for this if it isnt true.

Petracca stays Oliver does too it is simple.   2  peas in a pod.   Mcclure the dribbling dreamer !

Before this thread goes back to being about Oliver,  curious why the rumour about a player wanting to explore trades made everyone jump to think about our mids,
Surely it makes more sense and the media has already indicated this that it is probably more likely to be a rumour regarding Pruess or TMac?  Both have a couple of years to run don't they?

One of the gronky Facebook pages is reporting Oliver is disappointed with finishing 5th in the BnF and has therefore requested a trade.

Utter rubbish from the Member's End, but thought I'd put it out there anyway.

I know which page you’re talking about, it’s a satire page which older people take seriously for some reason.

There's just no way he goes to the Blues. If he's still unsigned near the end of 2021 I'll be worried of course.

Tom Morris was on a podcast a few days ago though saying that Oliver was angry about finishing 5th in the Bluey. His opinion was that's just how he is. He's a competitor, maybe a bit immature and has the ego that goes with those things. He was saying he didn't think any of it was a reflection on the club or Goodwin.

It it the paper that proposed a swap over Anthony McDonald Tippa and Sloane at one stage? Or something like that? Think I know the one you're thinking of haha

Interesting what you find on Essendon bigfooty..

One of my friends knows a few fox footy commentators. There’s truth to the Oliver rumour. But it does look like Carlton are in the box seat for him.
Not sure how they’ll manage Williams, Oliver and Saad. In addition to all the players they’ve just re-signed, and no clarity on what the cap will be, so we’ll see how that goes.”

With a bit of follow up..

That he [Oliver] isn’t happy at the Dees and would be open to a trade.
Dees are apparently looking to get into the first round for draft picks. And would consider a deal (that was obviously good for them).
Viney, Brayshaw and Oliver were all options. But Oliver was the one more open to a move.”

All I will say is that I would not be surprised if there is legs to this rumour.

Garry Lyon has been hinting at a potential bombshell trade that's about to hit, and with his links to Melbourne, I would not be surprised if this is the Oliver to Blues rumour that's swirling around.

2024 Player Reviews: #18 Jake Melksham

After sustaining a torn ACL in the final match of the 2023 season Jake added a bit to the attack late in the 2024 season upon his return. He has re-signed on to the Demons for 1 more season in 2025. Date of Birth: 12 August 1991 Height: 186cm Games MFC 2024: 8 Career Total: 229 Goals MFC 2024: 8 Career Total: 188

2024 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem

The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence. The first round draft pick at #13 from twelve months ago the strongly built medium forward has had an impressive introduction to AFL football and is expected to spend more midfield moments as his career progresses. 2024 Player Reviews: #42 Daniel Turner

The move of “Disco” to a key forward post looks like bearing fruit. Turner has good hands, moves well and appears to be learning the forward craft well. Will be an interesting watch in 2025. 2024 Player Reviews: #8 Jake Lever

The Demon’s key defender and backline leader had his share of injuries and niggles throughout the season which prevented him from performing at his peak.  Date of Birth: 5 March 1996 Height: 195cm Games MFC 2024: 18 Career Total: 178 Goals MFC 2024: 1 Career Total: 5

2024 Player Reviews: #13 Clayton Oliver

Lack of preparation after a problematic preseason prevented Oliver from reaching the high standards set before last year’s hamstring woes. He carried injury right through the back half of the season and was controversially involved in a potential move during the trade period that was ultimately shut down by the club. BLOODY BLUES by Meggs

The conclusion to Narrm’s home and away season was the inevitable let down by the bloody Blues  who meekly capitulated to the Bombers.   The 2024 season fixture handicapped the Demons chances from the get-go with Port Adelaide, Brisbane and Essendon advantaged with enough gimme games to ensure a tough road to the finals, especially after a slew of early season injuries to star players cost wins and percentage.     As we strode confidently through the gates of Prin

Melbourne’s most important player who dominated the first half of the season until his untimely injury in the Kings Birthday clash put an end to his season. At the time, he was on his way to many personal honours and the club in strong finals contention. When the season did end for Melbourne and Petracca was slowly recovering, he was engulfed in controversy about a possible move of clubs amid claims about his treatment by the club in the immediate aftermath of his injury.
