Mind-boggling stupidity and lack of professionalism and respect.

They’re at work.
They've been explicitly told not to do it.
They did it anyway.

AFL doesn’t like it, sponsors don’t like it and members (as it was leading into the most important quarter of the year) don’t like it.

Gives an insight into some players focus and mindset.  If we’ve ever wondered how we don’t turn up to play in big matches or drop the easy ones...

I bet you never photocopied your arsse at work.

Anyone who grew up in male environments knows this sort of thing is pretty common. It's obviously an in-joke and I have no real issue with the act itself. However, as others have said, I would expect far greater professionalism on match day and given the way we dropped the ball in the 4th quarter, it's easy to connect the disrespect shown towards the coach and our performance.

But surely, if there is a story here it's not about consent or predatory behaviour, the story is why it's a joke for straight males to pretend to have homosexual interests? To be clear, this isn't something that worries me (unless Twitter decides it's something that should worry me) I'm just surprised that angle hasn't been covered yet.

This sums up the culture and attitude of the MFC that has held us back for years. Finals on the line and they are messing about like under 12’s. Complete lack of respect for Goody and for what is at stake.

Essendon applied almost zero pressure all game and somehow we almost threw the game away. Now we see why.

What other team do you see not paying attention in such a big game?

I’ve grown up in male environment and never seen and fingers up A holes! I’m 40 so maybe this is a younger guy thing. Or maybe restricted to footy. It’s bloody weird!

Let's be honest here:

Those who see the club negatively at the moment will [censored] and moan about it.

Those who see the club in a less negative light will shrug it off.

Clip them behind the ear for it and move on.

I mean, you only need to look at the Herald Sun to see that there are bigger issues in the world right now, such as who Nadia Bartel's 'new man' is....

I do get it.

It was silly.  But that's it.  Remind them and move on.

So you have no problem with them [censored] around during the three quarter time break & not listening to the coach when they should be fired up and switched on for the final term?

The acceptance of this type of behaviour (referring to not being switched not the inappropriateness) leading to going to sleep and blowing leads is why this club will always be [censored].

Hahahaha! Exactly right mate, it’s not the lack of skill / execution of the game plan, it’s a couple of mates having a laugh during the quarter time break.

What happened to "love is love"? I thought we would all be accepting of this in the 2020 we live in. Christian didn't smack Hunts hand away. Be egg on the AFL'S face if the pair came out as a couple due to the way the hub had brought them together and then 24 hours later said they have decided to go separate ways in life.

No, I don't.

Trac and Hunt were two of our best players yesterday.  Clearly they were switched on, and were not the cause of the Bombers coming back in the last quarter.

If half the team were doing it, then fine.  That has an impact.  But two blokes?  Hunt kicked an important goal in the last term and Trac still had an impact, so I really do think this is a total non issue.

I didn’t know what to expect when I saw the title of this thread!

I don’t get the groping or the finger up the [censored] thing amongst teammates. If a bloke tried that in my time he would have been decked. 2 consenting adults in the privacy of their homes well that’s their business.

Having said that its obvious the boys were in on the joke so what does it matter other than just don’t get caught on camera. The blood suckers in the press are always looking for a beat-up so don’t give them the opportunity.

In reality, I thought that it would be Caroline Wilson exposing this news so easily observed on the telecast, and sensationalism to the world. It is tasteless and provoking news, that which is usually ignored without value-laden additions. Sad that it happened but then again, it is none of our business, so easily forgotten. I think is was most possibly extremist comerademie and not much else - so who cares?

They must have a lot of fun in the showers, win or lose.

As you can see in this photo, the two are obviously close, and comfortable with this type of action.

Is it professional? No.

Is it in anyway related to the Richmond incident? No.

If society cannot differentiate those two incidents, then its not a surprise we are still grappling with sexual assault and harassment.

It's really disappointing that the commentary and club statements miss the part about consent, because it could be a "teaching moment".

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs West Coast

It’s game day and the Demons return to Melbourne to play the Eagles at the MCG for the first time in over a decade. A win keeps the Dees finals hopes alive whereas a loss will almost certainly slam the finals window shut.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
