If Tmac is really on the coin that was thrown around earlier, then unfortunately we're likely stuck with him

He's going to need to get fitter, faster and performย

Heโ€™ll also need to learn how to take pack marks and turn

One player who i think would be gettable, allbeit expensive is Harry McKay. i reckon he's an immediate upgrade on Weid and has plenty of upside moving forward.ย

Kind of ironic because we passed McKay to take Weid and were interested in both.ย

I feel like outside run and class is still our biggest need and that's where the bulk of our cap should be spent at this stage, but if we could get McKay in. even if it cost us a good pick. i think we'd be better for itย

I rate McKay. Reckon he'll break out in a good side (ie next year or two). When you say expensive, do you mean contractually or trade-wise? Would love a forwardline of Weideman, McKay and Jackson.

I mean more trade wise. i don't even know if the Blues would entertain it though they are in a position they could offload a key forward to get another need filled, possiblty inside mid support for Cripps.

Would be poor list strategy from the Blues IMO. Curnow is no certainty to get back to his early career form. Trading out another legitimate KPF would be stupid. So what do you think we'll have to give them? ;)ย

I don't like the idea of helping the Blues midfield brigade.ย

What are our options?

TMac comes good and we keep him

Ben Brown - good lead and overhead mark

Jesse Hogan - get him Burgess fit and back amongst his mates

Jeremy Cameron - expensive and question onย value for money

Jeremy Finlayson - v similar to Weideman

Any others?ย

ย

Finlayson re-signed this week.

Weideman 1 goal in the final 4 games, a terrible effort.ย  Has no urgency.

T Mac is finished.

Luke Jackson may or may not be a key forward but hes still a teenager either way.

Mitch brown is the best tall forward on our list as he showed today and hes 30.

ย

We need to recruit a gun KPF this trade period or 2021 will be another waste of everyones time.

How about Joe Daniher ???

Yeah it's hard to see them being keen on trading him but i think he is someone we could ask about.ย

we'd probably have to give up either a very strong pick or a starting player

We can ask, but what reason would the Blues have for giving him up?

He is one of their best young prospects.ย  I'd say there is no chance they would even consider trading him.

If the Blues were stupid enough to give up Mckay then of course, greatย hands and overhead marking and has been a late bolter this season.

I wouldn't be keen to give them one of our mids, so unless we could broker something else, then we wouldn't have the currency.

I'd swap a mid for a KPF. You need to give to get, or you go to the draft and wait years to see if a 17 year old turns out to be the answer.

I don't actually think we need a gun key forward though, we just need a guy who can consistently get to contests and bring the ball to ground.

For those who said Weid was strong in the contest today, how many times did he not even make it to the contest?

I rate Carlton's list. The one area of the ground I don't rate for them is their midfield. It's basically Cripps and the rest are triers. I think it'd be dangerous to giveย a competitor like that one of our gun mids. I rate McKay, but he's not a bonafide A grader.

Is Darcy Fogarty worth a look? ย Not happy at the Crows apparently. Big, strong lad with a touch of mongrel in him and still only 20.

He's worth a look for sure.

In terms of key forwards, in this day and age, he's small in terms of height wise for a key forward now. While he's got the physical attributes of a power forward, he's only 192cm tall.

Full credit to the club for improving our backline.

May is a star and been the difference bw winning and losing several games.

Long overdue to fix the other end. Weid is still and unknown commodity. Has played some rippers but has npt featured at all in quite a few as well.

Jackson shiws great promise but is only young and has played few games.

Like May, we need a proven player at ff.

Cameron?

Get rid of their best young key forward. Yes that will happen.ย
Weid, LJ ,Petty and TMac ( back to full fitness) is a start, ย with Brown also for another year to pinch hit.ย
Yes if we can get a good key forward, absolutely.

Has highย talent but looks heavy in this legs and wonder whether he does the work to make up for his lack of height as a true power forward. I dont think he Is a priority thatย solves our problems but would not say no if it made sense as part of a broader plan.ย

Jack Gunston would probably be the ideal one in terms of him being an immediate improvement of the best 22 but also highly experienced and providing that on field leadership and helping Weideman develop the bit of forward craft he's currently lacking.ย

our entire forward line is lacking a bit of system so a key forward who could help with that would be a huge bonusย
