A question.

If we were missing the equivalent players that WC were tonight, could we have produced a come from behind win in ****ty conditions, in a clutch game?

Could anyone other than West Coast?

That was an incredible win.

It was in part driven by the fact that St Kilda are barely any better than us.

But they looked cooked early in the fourth and with McGovern off for the entire second half, they still someone kicked the last three goals of the game.

A warning sign to the other four teams in the top 5 IMO.

I find it amazing just watching WCEs forward line work so well. Makes me insanely jealous

They will miss McGovern badly for finals.  He was killing it til he pulled that hammy.  Over last few weeks i reckon Geelong is the team to beat, they look in brutal form. They are suffocating their oppositions with extreme pressure.  Should be great final series, teams are starting to flex.

The Aints didn’t play that badly, they were hard at the ball, Meth Coke just went to another level.
To do that with half a Side and 2 on the bench, with no crowd on the other side of the Country is just extraordinary.

I wonder if The MFC watched it...?

The luxury of having a great coaching staff.

And elite players.

When they fell behind, it was Kennedy, Naitanui and Kelly who dragged them back in.

We saw vs St Kilda the difference Petracca and May made. But neither was at the same level in either Cairns game and it showed.

Wouldn’t it be nice if we could somehow draft a player like Kelly with a pick in the twenties.

How far off is our list compared to West Coast, they have a heap of good players on the injury list but I still think they would thrash us.

Called culture, development, system, game plan... we have proven that getting early picks is only 1 part of the equation. We haven’t mastered any of the above

I have absolutely no doubt at all that if that was us, not St Kilda, you would be saying the opposite.

They just got beaten by a West Coast side missing Shuey, Yeo, Sheed, Redden, Cripps, Hutchings and Jetta. And with McGovern, one of their best 5 players, off by HT.

And that was West Coast's fifth game in 18 days (St Kilda's third game in that block).

You would be scathing of us if that was us who had lost that game.

Yes this is a factor. St Kilda have lost their last three by only 2, 3 and 15, so they haven't shed much percentage.

We do have two games to make up the 50-odd point differential, and in this scenario they have to lose again. So it's not out of the realms of possibility.

But if we miss out on percentage, we'll all have great fun reflecting on not just losing to Sydney and Fremantle, but losing by 21 and 14 points respectively (maybe even that final-second goal to Patrick vs Fremantle will haunt us?)

But it’s not my team so i can be objective

Meth Coke were unbelievable to win that game, considering their situation, St. Kilda had a red hot go, but were no match

What a choke by the Saints. shocking skills

King and Jones with 0.7 between them.

They'll be packing it against the Giants next week

Meth Coke were that good

That is what is called attitude

The MFC would have played that way under Smith

They refused to lose. It is what we have lost now

That’s how it works.
The Aints supporters would be filthy

But i only noticed the players having a Red Hot Go

Meth Coke were just on another level

Similiar to their 2018 GF which is a superb game to watch as a neutral

If Melbourne had put up a performance like that vs West Coast.  We would be disappointed but proud for the most part.

Sometimes it is the manner that you win/lose.  West Coast showed huge character, as did St Kilda

If we lost playing like Saints last night it would easily be the best we played all year....with tough opposotion.
